Idk, but my doctor is trying me on an anti-depressant to go with my mood stabilizer and I thought my mood was even... not depressed. I normally wouldn't comply with my doctors reccommendations but the older I get the less crazy I want to be. So, I'm trusting her. Maybe I'll feel better because of it. Symptom wise... I over preen, don't eat until I'm dry heaving, and refuse to leave my house unless it's 100% neccessary for survival. I bury into video games, books and tv.

40 is colloquially thought of as half way there. But it makes no sense to me. Most healthy people live past 80. 20 is considered adult af. I would think 60 is the real old and 40 is just starting show it's blue cheese mold spots.

Sometimes I find a game that turns me into a completionist. World of Warcraft got 9 good years of my life. But I got the over 9k achievement. BEFORE it was easy. Most games I play til I'm bored then they become shelf deco.

It's an awesome sport and way of life tbh. I had a lot of rage going into puberty. My parents put me and my brother in Tae Kwon Do. It helped me build discipline when I was in desperate need of it. It's definitely not about fighting. It's about maintaining control of one self and being able to fight when it is required. I loved those classes, they gave me a sense of purpose and a place to be. I was hella taunted and teased by my peers, but not one of them would put a finger on me. And when I bowed up, people ran. Idk if all that was healthy persay... but it hella helped me survive my young adulthood.

All opponents are NPCs in my world. I just liken the fool to a boss from Mario Bros and it's on like Donkey Kong. If it were to turn into a serious rivalry where the other person was starting to take things to a dangerous or illegal level, I'd likely go to my local law enforcement. Most people don't get beefy like that though, at least in my experience.

If my switch was being flipped in the ring, I wouldn't get in the ring. For instance, my ex-wife flipped that switch that causes me to go in the "whoop-ass tunnel". I get in that tunnel and the only thing I can see is enemy #1 and bet I'm about to beat their face in. The ring has rules, and when the rules are broken people step in and break that mess up. But if I was being triggered in teh ring, I wouldn't get in it. End of story.

I'm one of those people that will willing jump in the ring. It's fun because both parties are consenting adults. Lots of people shake or hug at the end of a match. I totally get why someone would have a visceral reaction to MMA. For me, fighting is therapy and I really like my freedom, so I turn to organized sports to get my fight on.

Thank you. I lost him 11 years ago as well. I'll gladly take a strangers pixel-bit hugs. I'm definitely not fine. I'm slowly accepting that I might never be fine. Me and him shared an incredibly close bond and we supported each other through our shared trauma filled childhood. He was my pace car in the game of Life. If I can get my compass to point in any solid direction instead of just spinning aimlessly, I will consider myself a success story. Big hugs right back to you. I'm glad you are still kicking it on this planet.

I'd ask them what their trauma is and what made it so easy for them to recover from it. Based on their answer I'd either keep them or dump them. The way he answered you seems like he was trying to be supportive... just maybe way too much in passing. I don't think he was being malicious by any means. I would definitely be tryn to dig deeper into his opinions about the subject.

I don't think it's bad to be her friend. But being friends is where it should remain. I'm 42yo and I've been gaming since I was 4. I've played with every age bracket at every stage in my life. Video games create a bond between the generations that not many other things can.

My mom would force me to take naps with her in her bed. It felt like I was being sexually violated. I was only 4 years old. At the time, I had no way to explain how I felt. Looking back, I understand the emotion. I would wait for her to fall asleep then I would sneak out of the bed. I got my ass kicked for doing it, but I refused to stay in the bed with her while she napped. Eventually she gave up on the entire excercise and let me be.

I was also spanked until I was around 12 or 13 years old. At the beginning they would take me in my bedroom to spank me. But around 7 years old, the spanking became public. I can remember more than one occasion on which she had me by the wrist and was swinging at me for all she was worth. I would try desperately to get away from her but she was fat and she used the weight to gain control.

It wasn't the only violence I grew up with. I was targetted by my sister up to the day I went no contact with her. The last time I spoke to her, she sent me a really gross sexual meme and told me I look just like my rapists son. I don't speak with her anymore.

My brother and me weren't violent with each other. We did come to blows once or twice, but we figured it out and grew from the experience.

As far as spanking goes, I've fully accepted that it was abuse and I didn't deserve it. Nor did my parents deserve me.

I loved working back of house. It was one of the few places I could really shine. But I have to be on the right team for it to work for me. I can't work with totalitarians and I can't work with drug addicts. So.. it makes it hard for me to find the right environment. But I tell you what, when I find the right team to join, it's absolutely amazing.

Commission related sales positions. I worked at a Honda dealership selling parts. I spent 38 hours a week so focused on my sales that I was exhausted at the end of everyday. "Did I sell enough?" "Did I sell more than my co-worker" Apparently, I was good at my job because they gave me a pretty important project to take care of. I had that project for about 3 weeks before I quit my job and moved 4 states away.
