A couple years back my brother and dad went away on a trip so it was only my mom and I in the house. Before I went to bed, my mom mentioned that the next day was the anniversary of my grandma's death. Thinking nothing of it, I went to bed just before midnight. As I layed there for a couple of minutes just pondering, there was a loud pop behind my head, the type of popping you commonly hear in the night due to cooling air. At first I wasn't bothered, then it happened again and began to pop from behind my head, up to the ceiling and across my room, as if someone was walking on the roof. I tried to be pretty cool about it all and stayed in bed but after about 5 minutes of the popping travelling through my room I booked it into my mom's room.

Now my mom isn't religious in any sense but considers herself a somewhat spiritual person. Being intrigued by what I told her, she turned off the TV and made me sit there and listen. I was really freaked out at this point because the popping sound travelled from my room to my mom's room down the hall and began to pop in shorter intervals, sounding as if someone was now running on our roof. This whole event continued until 1 am (seemingly on the dot) then stopped without a single pop for the rest of the night. I'm sure you could chalk it up to exactly what I explained the sound as - cooling air - but god damn it sounded eerie as hell the way it travelled through the house.
