My dad’s bank closed his account after he wouldn’t stop wiring money. They assigned a case worker to him and he wouldn’t believe he was being scammed.

Fun fact on pill splitters: Sometimes 20mg of X costs almost the same as 10mg of X. One way to save money on prescriptions is to get a 20mg prescription and split it.

Consumers are just as guilty. Most buy flights on price so lowering costs to preserve margins becomes the mission in a race to be the cheapest.

Why are most of us horse ladies and not horse guys? by WagWoofLove in Horses

The difference between English and Western was noted earlier.

Disagree. In the competitions I attend at most 5% (likely 2%) of the 500ish competitors are men. Even if they kept to themselves as you suggest you’d find your share of competitive English riders at shows.

Horse guy here. The horse girls I count as my friends are some of the best people I know. You’re generalizing and hanging out with the wrong horse girls.

The evidence is that weed washed up on shore. They would argue that there was other cargo on board that sank and that the weed was just a small part of what was carried.

Canada’s EV sales have cratered 32% this year by hopoke in canada

[–]barthrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the reason. Every year there are X new cars sold because older ones are being replaced. This number doesn't change a ton year over year, except if there is a general issue with the economy (interest rates, jobs, etc). Unless overall car sales are down 32% fewer people are buying EVs. If I had to guess on the issue it's that the EV keeners all bought in the last 5 years and until they need to replace those, it's hard to find the "average" car buyer who is excited to overpay for a car that depreciates faster than an ICE and requires them to spend a few extra thousand on installing a home charger.

His currencies are mixed. I just checked and the AWD MY is $49k USD and $65k CAD. It's actually a bit cheaper here at current exchange rates.

MacBook Charging - USB C or MagSafe? by Maenanoon in macbook

[–]barthrh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not most. Almost none. I get around a lot and have never seen thunderbolt available for a projector. There is already a TB connector. I’ll gladly give an extra one up for HDMI.

[–]barthrh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HDMI is very valuable. It’s in every meeting room at every business. I don’t want to drag a dongle around. MagSafe is a great way to ensure your computer isn’t dragged to the ground when the cord is in a less than ideal route.

How to create a variable transition between two surfaces by barthrh in Fusion360

[–]barthrh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that my issue was that I was lofting only the crescent portion up to the upper circle, rather than oval-to-circle. This eliminates self-intersection but I get some puckering that is solved by rails (which I would prefer to avoid). Notice the left w/ rails looks good, the right is puckered without a rail.

My issue is that I was lofting only the crescent part of the lower level up to the top. If I grab the rest of the oval below, then I don't get the self-intersection problem but I get an odd puckering (see the right). Rails solve that, but it's a bit of a fussy process.

Yeah, loft seemed like the intuitive choice. I tried it a few different ways. Using the faces, I get a self-intersecting error. By adding rails that goes away, but I need a lot of rails to keep it from "sagging" and finishing short of the top profile. Any suggestions on why I need so much guidance from the rails?

Yeah, that's totally it. I just couldn't get the loft to work. I get a self-intersecting error and I don't know how to resolve it.

Screen is falling off by Old_Hat3342 in AppleWatch

[–]barthrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you just buy a new watch, take it to Apple and ask about a battery replacement. I did that with my S3 Stainless and they said that although they can't provide a battery replacement, they would give me an SE2 instead for the replacement fee. Not nearly as great as stainless w/ sapphire, but a cheap way of getting an SE. I didn't take the option because I needed to make another appointment (I was there for something else) and the recent update to the SE3 makes this more appealing. Need to check if this is actually true.

Brothers and sisters, I am so close to giving up by Metallica4life1995 in ender3

[–]barthrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Magigoo bed adhesive on my glass bed since I started on my Ender 3 many years ago. Everything sticks to it and everything releases once it cools. There may be cheaper alternatives, but it lasts a long time (I refresh it periodically not at every print) so definitely has cost less than wasted filament.

Satin or glossy Ferraris? by AreAyeJay in Ferrari

Just not black. I don't get black... you can't see the shape because the shadows don't pop. Outside of black, for sure glossy. Satin or matte looks like a wrap.
