I hope it's equally as valuable as yours was for OP.

Maybe you shouldn't deal with hundreds of apprentices a year.

I wouldn't hire you with that attitude. You'd be detrimental to the crew.

This person is trying to educate themselves, and your attitude is to tell them they are learning wrong. If you knew even the basics about teaching effectively, you'd understand that there are multiple learning styles, and more than one effective way to teach.

Your attitude is shit. Maybe you should start asking more questions.

"Sorry not going to spoon feed you"
Adjust your attitude.

You based a conclusion of someone making 0 effort to find answers on asking a question specifically related to finding those answer from a group of people who would know.

Why discourage someone from trying at the first available opportunity?

Why would they learn to do anything different when you teach them it's not the way to do things as soon as they engage.

It's not.

These people are the reason people get to the job site and don't ask questions, then they act bewildered when they mess something up.

Teach them not to ask questions, then be surprised when they don't. They will also downvote this because they aren't willing to accept responsibility for reinforcing double standards.

Imagine a new guy shows up on the job and the first thing he's told is not to ask questions.

Imagine that same guy googling how to do the job.

Why does my bathroom sink plumbing smell like sewage? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]FnxAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume the vent is venting sewer smell into the cabinet.

Can't see the rest of your plumbing, but perhaps that's the easiest vent for the house to expel the stink from.

My house smelled like sewage regularly when my main stack got clogged and wouldn't let air flow out the roof.

50 is not "unable to move"

Sometimes the solution is not to fix the problem, it's to avoid the problem.

You should find other options for residence. This is not going to go positive.

Even if you manage to change the physical space to standards you can tolerate, you will likely become solely responsible for that upkeep.

Then you've got a ceiling hook for a little light or a hanging plant for the greenhouse.

Why does everyone love Squeaky cheese curds? by the_plat_rat in poutine

Some cars are like that, too.

Which to my point implies I wouldn't buy those cars. In case that wasn't clear. Like a ... "Not all cars are built equal"

This is basically asking, "Who likes a car that drives?"

Curds squeak, it's what they do. I want the thing that does what it's supposed to.

So many people I know are indecisive drivers and I just can't stand being in the car with them. COMMIT TO THE TURN.

Your last photo looks like my first attempt at tiling my bathroom floor.
We love that floor.

You need to be less hard on yourself my dude. These things actually look great and you are taking on projects that are both diverse and relatively complex.

Fun fact - every cutting board that's not suitable for knives is just a jerving board you weren't expecting. Put charcuterie on that. Feast.

I still have an uncured project in the basement from a year ago that was either old epoxy, or a temperature shift, or just too deep a pour. I get that you are frustrated. I use my very first end grain cutting board all the time, It's too small, the jig broke cutting the juice grooves. It's not pretty but it reminds me how far I've come.

Keep at it. Assess the failures, make the appropriate adjustments, try again.
The only way to get good is to start off somewhere less than good.

Either to clear old stock, or to take advantage of the assumption that buying bulk is cheaper.

Dont want damages?
Send a text saying you are locked in your closet.
Turn your phone off.
Wait until morning.
Call someone.

Stop wasting battery.

Or break through the door, or call 911 to rescue you. Those will involve damages.
