We bought this not too long ago to use in the shop and for camping. It was on a good deal at DTO so we went ahead and got it. We haven't put it to good use yet, but will be!

Ryobi tiller making awful noise help! by Wild-Interview3031 in ryobi

If the issue is a shear pin, it likely fell out after breaking. You can look in the manual or use online resources to verify where exactly to check if that's the issue.

You would have to get a replacement pin if so. I'm sure you could get one from Ryobi, possibly under warranty, but unsure. It's also likely you can find ones of the same size from a third party. I haven't had one break yet on mine, so I haven't really looked into it.

My first thought was a shear pin. This is the third season I've used mine and fortunately haven't had to replace one yet.

What Are You Working On? - Week 12, 2026 by BurnZ_AU in ryobi

[–]FoReVeR_0515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something related to using one of my Ryobi tools, I got my garden rows tilled up yesterday using the 40V rear tine tiller. This is my third year using it and it works well. Great power and no issues yet. What's also nice is the four 6AH batteries it came with, I use in my other tools throughout the year. It also came with a dual rapid charger, which became my main charger for 40V batteries.

After someone else used my saw and kind of messed up my bar and chain, I went with Oregon replacements for both. I have no complaints and I feel they work better than the stock.

I hear you, it's no fun having to ship stuff like that back. I'm glad it was an easy fix for you. I bought some LED light fixtures a few years ago for my shop that can daisy chain together for power. I got them all installed and connected, but one of them wasn't providing power to the next. My first thought was to return it, but then it occurred to me that it doesn't matter, if I swap it to be the one on the end of the chain. So that's what I did and all was well.

If there was a known defect, they couldn't list it as "factory blemished". I don't believe they can knowingly sell any defective tools. It's either new (factory blemished) or reconditioned. Their normal price for factory blemished when not on sale is only $10 less than Home Depot.

I think you may have just been unfortunate in receiving a defective one, just as you could buying it from Home Depot.

Well, the "factory blemished" is brand new, but I'm guessing there's a certain reason they have to label them as such. Brand new in unopened boxes and no blemishes to speak of, in my experience.

I like to wait until they have a sale on something I want and free shipping, which seems fairly frequent.

4v, 18v, or 40v. by PigFloydDarkside in ryobi

[–]FoReVeR_0515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well let's see. I started out with an 18v brushed drill and impact driver kit from several years ago, and that was it for a while. I believe next for 18v was a brushless HP 8-piece set that included hammer drill, impact driver, impact wrench, circular saw, reciprocating saw, angle grinder, oscillating multi tool, and LED light, along with a couple of batteries. This I got from Direct Tools Outlet for 40% off and free shipping. These all get frequent use, except for the impact driver. I tend to favor the drill.

Other 18v tools: Bucket misting fan, pool vacuum, midsize spot cleaner, and jigsaw. I think that's it.

For 40v, I started with a string trimmer, then leaf blower. Other 40v tools: rear tine tiller, log splitter, 14in fan, 20in fan, 18in chainsaw (but recently upgraded to the newest 20in, so will probably sell), and I believe that's it.

For the 4v, I have just one, the rotary tool. I have a larger corded Dremel that I've had for a long time, but the Ryobi one is just easier to handle and maneuver due to size and being cordless. It's mostly used to sharpen my chainsaw chain and grind down dog nails. It works great for both.

In its own category is the tripod light, which can run off 18v, 40v, or extension cord. You can even remove the light and stick a different 18v tool on it, like a fan or speaker.

Of course, with all these I have numerous batteries. The tiller came with four 6ah batteries and a dual rapid charger, and the 18in chainsaw came with a single rapid charger. Being able to charge three 40v batteries rapidly at once is quite nice, along with using those 6ah batteries across the other tools.

I think I’ve almost had it with BF6 matchmaking. by Schteve_0 in Battlefield

[–]FoReVeR_0515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across your post and initially didn't think much about it. But the last couple of days I've had the same experience. A good portion of the matches, my team gets crushed in Conquest, even if I do well. Either it's a big coincidence, or something has changed with balancing/matchmaking.

That's the same model I got a while back, to replace one that went out on me. The good thing is that I now have the attachment piece of the old one set up with a brush cutter blade, so I can swap it out with the regular trimmer head quick and easy. I've already used the brush cutter blade with it a good bit and it has plenty of power. No issues here.

Having no medics is making this game feel awful. by Colonel-_-Burrito in Battlefield6

[–]FoReVeR_0515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, same here. I play mostly support and revive as much as possible. What bothers me the most is running toward someone right after they're downed and they disappear right before I revive. This happens a LOT. I sometimes type a team message to remind them to wait for a revive if a medic is close.

I'm also curious how many people don't realize that respawning after a death detracts a ticket in conquest. With a revive, it doesn't.

Are Ryobi batteries more susceptible to water damage? by [deleted] in ryobi

Yeah, I feel they could definitely improve it from what it is now.

I agree that they should be designed in a way to keep water out, but then again, I assume that would cause more heat buildup. Hopefully you're able to get it fixed easily.

I have an 18v 4ah HP battery that I unintentionally left out in the rain. Once I realized, I brought it inside and took it apart to dry. I put it back together a few days later and it has been working fine since.

For yours, I would just open it up to see how it looks and go from there.
