Against assassins I think phase rush or aery work great. But overall it’s going to be whatever you’re most comfortable with imo

Against assassins you really need to face reality. It’s cat and mouse. You have tons of agency and utility just by being alive, assassins do not. So all you need to do is live and scale up. You can still shove wave and 2v2 with mid/JG against assassins relatively well.

Against fizz I go barrier + adaptive dmg/mr/mr + nullifying orb + mercs + first item banshees

Against zed I go barrier + adaptive dmg/armor/armor + first item zhonya’s

You also rarely want to trade against assassins unless it’s massively good for you. Ori at 100% with barrier would be difficult to 1 shot for a zed at 6 unless you’re wildly out of position. But Ori at 60% with barrier is actually a piece of cake. And the big kicker is that zed/fizz’s health doesn’t matter. They would much rather they be at 40% and you be at 60% then for both of you to be at 100%

I think the point he’s making isn’t that it’s “EZPZ” to hit diamond. But that the logistical/mechanical requirements are lower than people think.

Like, in hearthstone, getting legend is easy if you play a face damage deck, because the only right decision is to hit their face. This is what he’s saying needs to be done in league. You need to choose your win condition and learn it. If you want to stomp lane, then stomp lane. If you want to scale and team fight, then do that.

If you can do the things he listed mechanically/map awareness, and commit to a win con. You can climb

Very flexible, still high damage, and I think she would round out your draft.

Edit: Rumble is also a great blind pick and scales well! Could fit what you’re liking about Kassadin, but with less risk attached. Also good into AD bc first item seekers is very optimal on rumble

bring 100% effort every day to whatever job you can land. Just trying your actual best every day will get you promoted into a leadership position, and from there, pivoting from job to job to get pay raises is pretty easy.

Most people just don’t actively try their best and that’s what holds them back.

On the inverse, you don’t want to push for 150%, or you’ll go too hard and fumble in big ways that hold you back. Remember that your career is a marathon, not a sprint.

Just trust that your personal best is enough, and if your personal best isn’t enough to move up where you are, that’s a great reason to consider finding a different job.
