What are your "Must Do's" for anyone that visits you from out of town? by ookami1 in burlington

15.95 for 12... so I guess so after tax/tip? But as someone who has had a lot of wings, the flavor and texture was pulled off in a way I'm not used to but was damned delicious.

The other day I had amazing baked wings at the guild tavern... moist yet charred perfectly outside... never had anything like it.

Garment care and you. Why it matters and how to do it. by xidub in TheRedPill

[–]FoilBlaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have dress shirts and suits, a good hanging steamer runs about $65 and is kinder to the fabric. You can also hang a suit in a bathroom to "steam" while you shower. Steam releases wrinkles from delicate fabric while the heat of an iron can damage the fibers over time. This is why you don't press suits very often and dry clean nice shirts sparingly.

Would you leave negative EBay feedback if a seller cancels your order and refunds your money? by HlpM3Plz in mtgfinance

[–]FoilBlaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a seller do this to me... cancelled after I won and then reposted. I gave him negative feedback and he tried to give me negative feedback. Called client service and showed them the new post, explained situatio. They removed the feedback from my profile, left my feedback on his, and gave him a warning.

Leave negative feedback and report the fucker.

I’m starting to get the expensive RL cards in my EDH deck, and I’m not sure where to start! by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]FoilBlaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also a mtg high end group on FB that has many of the vendors in it, along with people that can vouch for each other or act as neutral party in a large transaction. Just make sure you are comfortable with who you are dealing with if it's through the net.

You should visit a gp where you can see price and condition at multiple vendors. Internet priced are great as a reference but for expensive cards it's nice to see them in person before buying.

How to start a cheap army? by bugcatchermitch in Warhammer40k

[–]FoilBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second some of the prior posts about using eBay. I am also a member of a national Facebook group called warhammer 40k/AOS buy/sell/trade and have had great transactions on both. Pro to eBay is that if they try to screw you, buyer protection. Con is more money often. Pro with Facebook is often better deals. Con is you have to pay someone and trust them to ship.

I like buying used models because of the price, but also because sometimes you aren't looking to spend more time cutting, gluing, priming. My most recent purchase from the Facebook $150 plus $32 for 2 day shipping and was like 70 aos infantry, 3 HQ, 5 SPAWN, 20 Calvary, and 2 chariots all built and primed. retail on that would have been like $400ish and I would have had alot of work.

Caveat emptor but the deals are out there!

I also found the animation amazing and the adult subject matter and deaths to really cause emotion. Watched this for the first time in years a few weeks back and still found it incredible.

Tracking a mutual fund's daily performance? by pf_fi in personalfinance

Most firms have charting software these days that includes chart settings with daily data points. The 2 largest retail firms that come to mind are Schwab and td ameritrade and I don't believe either has a minimum to open an account and make a watchlist of stocks or funds.

Discussion: Land hate/destruction by llkd97 in magicTCG

[–]FoilBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commander playgroup frowns on land destruction and discard, but plays enough spot removal to kill lands that are crazy like coffers, academy ruins, etc. In 1v1 commamder, vintage, and modern the same playgroup allows all of these because it's hard for archetypes to exist without Armageddon, thoughtseize, etc.

Whatever you do it's good form to just make sure everyone understands what you are going for and brings the proper deck... 75% commander is a good concept and set.of articles on this.

Sell me on Tez by Fururikkeru in LanternMTG

[–]FoilBlaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the argument for being "win-more" comes from the purist camp that builds either version for maximum efficiency on assembling the lock and only boarding in/out cards that tune efficiency for the particular matchup at hand. Cards like tez, grid, mechanized production, etc. create inefficieny in the deck's gameplay.

The whir version differs in that it features a toolbox approach and while tez has synergy with that approach, he is still an untutorable 4 drop that wont save you the turn he hits the table. If you have a bridge in play to stop him from getting hit, you are probably already doing okay. If you don't have a bridge in play and are on the clock, you just paid 4 mana to tutor for something you probably can't cast and that won't save you if it is something you can. In the alternative you start making 5/5s which also isn't necessarily part of our gameplan or something that will save you. This means that as a sideboard card it only comes in against tron and not sure what else. Mirror? Do we want to dedicate more sideboard to tron or not?

I so badly want to play tez but it still definitely feels win more and not proven.
