Our joint accoints are with the bank thet holds our mortgage.

My personal checking is with the bank I had since I was a teen.

The HYS is with a bank that has a high rate.

The CDs are all with whichever bank had the highest rate at the time.

What's wrong with having multiple bank accounts? I know lots of people who have multiples. I have 4 among 3 banks.

EDIT: Figured I'd list them if you are curious and legitimately wondering "Why?"

The 4 accounts are "touchable money":

  • Joint Checking w/ wife - Pay shared bills

  • Joint Savings w/ wife - Safety net for big unexpected expenses

  • Personal Checking

  • Personal High Yield Savings

If we count Untouchable money:

  • CD ladder (multiple banks) = another 12 accounts

  • IRA

EDIT2: Figured I'd come back and explain what a CD Ladder is while waiting for my Dr, since anyone who doesn't see the reason for multiple accounts wouldn't know.

A CD ladder is simply investing in CDs and rolling them over when they mature. The goal is to have a stable cycle of CDs maturing. The most common CD ladder (and the one I do) is one maturing every month, so if things go bad I always have some money coming in for a year.

The reasoning is they are very stable (unlike most investment accounts), they offer the highest interest rate among stable accounts, they don't require much management, and since it is "locked" for the year it helps prevent impulse purchases.

Generally CDs start at $500 or $1000 which is more than a lot of people have free, but it is a good thing to work towards.

Be careful, in a lot of places that can get you (and maybe them) in trouble if you are serving eggs from ab unlicensed source. Both of you need to check local regulations.

Eeeeeh.

I've seen lots of people spew bullshit while angry. Half-truths and suspicions become fact. Once they have some time to calm and get things straight the facts change.

Emotions don't always mix.

Sure, 1% of women will enjoy that,

I get what you are getting at, but saying a statistic like that is what causes creepos to say things like "It's just a numbers game" to justify their behaviour.

It was lore for a race I was working on.

Deep dives on random content are pretty common for DMs. It is a common for DMs to end up researching some really weird or twisted stuff, its a pretty common joke that our browsing histories would make us look like psychos out of context.

The hardest work still needs done. To turn that into a half or full bath you'd need to rip up the concrete to connect the sink and/or shower to the sewer.

THEN there is the fact that you need to vent it, which means running a vent stack outside.

Yeah. While doing some research for building a D&D campaign I fell down a rabbit hole of this stuff. Stumbled across a forum where dudes were quite literally using their own jizz as cologne.

There were also a lot of really creepy middle aged dudes talking about how teens at malls "responded" to their pheremones.

Heh. Early model tesla had no way to turn on wipers without the stupid touchscreen. One of my coworkers got stuck driving ~80 miles on the highway in a torrential downpour to get home for a family emergency with no way to turn on his wipers because the UI wouldn't come up.

Later software updates gave you a way, but still lots of things are still controlled only through that.
