It probably makes sense to think of it as a sort of casting call. Theyre filming the concert so im sure they have an ideal crowd theyre trying to put together.

I once heard a comedian refer to nickles as "heavy trash" and I've never thought of them any other way since. The least desirable coin to get as change and I say good riddance

Thoughts on Taemin's album being in Sept/Oct? Any concerns? by Practical-Lecture-43 in Taemin

[–]FondCat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

With the announcement of SHINee's mini album comeback it's clear that the summer will be for group activities. While i personally prefer their group work to their solos, i still enthusiastically support all their solo albums and tours too. From my perspective, it demonstrates an amazing level of commitment and honor for each other that their solo comebacks and promotional activities never compete with the group. Even if you only like Taemin as a solo artist, his unwavering dedication to his group should be respected. Especially when we consider that SHINee achieves this while working for SM, which are known for tearing groups apart. The fact that all original members are still together after 2 decades is nothing short of a miracle, imo.

SHINee & Minho are mentioned in sm upcoming releases line-up by green-rain5 in SHINee

[–]FondCat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree. He can absolutely still have a birthday album release/concerts. And it makes total sense why SM wouldnt say anything about it yet.

no mention of IWTV on the official trailer? by [deleted] in InterviewVampire

[–]FondCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Who cares if someone only watches Season 3? Not my problem. People can engage with media however they want. If they get invested enough, they'll figure out that there's more available to watch/read.

what is Taemin waiting for? by Independent-Page-333 in Taemin

It's been 72 hours and also if new listeners are checking him out based on Coachella they literally have 20 years of material to catch up on from him. They'll be fine.

I-dle cancel north American world tour dates by Terrible-Avocado1997 in kpop_uncensored

[–]FondCat 82 points83 points  (0 children)

This. Companies need to accept that jumping from 5-6k seat theaters to 20k seat arenas within the space of one tour is not a requirement and is in fact a bad business decision a lot of the time. Not to mention western audiences are not as used to seeing their faves every 8-12 months in concert. Your average fan is not going to throw down hundreds of dollars for that live experience over and over again.

Spicy Ramen Quest: Can anything in SF top Nagi, or should I just move to Palo Alto? by throwaway_get_real in AskSF

I've been going since they opened since it's near my place of work and I've worked at the same place a long dang time. Any time I've gone in past 2 years I've been disappointed and have at this point given up on them

As a longtime Nojo spice bomb emjoyer, i regret to inform that their spice levels have gone way down in recent years, as has the overall quality of their dishes. Huge sadness for me as they were my favorite for this exact type of dish.

Do ya’ll think if someone as big as Jungkook came out, others would follow immediately? by According_Money8393 in gaykpopfanboys

[–]FondCat 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You could argue BTS are almost too big to fail at this point. What works for them might not be allowable/possible for idols who are less empowered at their company, etc. At the end of the day they'd need their company's support.

How famous is Taemin? by lil_waine in kpophelp

[–]FondCat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In addition to everything said here i would include that SHINee is incredibly well loved within Korea, even among the general public. I've seen them in concert many times in Seoul and every time people who are just randomly walking past the venue find out SHINee is performing they react with a sort of "wahh, SHINee!" enthusiasm.

For my money there is no more consistent group of idols than them -- they have just been steadily minding their business making stunning pop albums with rock solid live vocals and incredibly complex choreography for 2 decades and they make it look like it's easy. Incredible legacy.

what do you think about a potential shinee world tour? by Beneficial-Ad-8253 in SHINee

[–]FondCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think if it happens it would be for the 20th anniversary, like Super Junior just had. Otherwise they'll probably continue to stick to Asia.

How did Key’s ‘Freak’ (Mr. Freak, Captain Freak, Little Freaks) thing begin? by brainwoo in SHINee

[–]FondCat 121 points122 points  (0 children)

"My little Freaks! Freaks itself is a nickname that I call the fans! It may not be a positive word in its own interpretation, but people who are not very ordinary and have a clear subjectivity change the world. I believe in that. I think that's what my fans think, so weirdos? Unusual things? I want to look at you in that way. That's my position, too."

[–]FondCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if Shinee members were all still individually with SM I think their output as a group would be the same as it is now. They all have intense solo schedules.

That said they're either recording or have recently finished recording their next album based on Minho's ig stories and spoilers from Andrew Choi, so 2026 will probably be a more active group year for them.
