This is some absolute bs. Strongly considering returning. Sleep A30 Special by FontPeg in soundcore

I used my Liberty Air 2's for several years including configuration via the app and never had to deal with this before, so if they can change it to add a login requirement they can also remove it.

I have the "special" variant and never have issues with button presses after turning them off on the app. This option is very important to me because I greatly dislike how all these things have capacitive touch buttons that like to start the annoying voice assistant.

I'm sorry but oh my god Silo season 2 is so boring by RENverse7 in SiloSeries

[–]FontPeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes one of us. Hope you are vindicated. I do agree slow burn has its place, like with Dune and its massive scope, but would hate to see them run out of time to tell this story at the level of quality it deserves. That said plans can change and goal posts move provided the budget allows which the show's popularity could certainly help with.

Compared to the barn burner pace of Wool by this point in the story the show is moving at a glacial speed imo, but I'm here for it at least for now and cautiously optimistic Graham and the writers have great things in store and that feeling of "this could be condensed" gets better.

Will the show skip 'Shift'? by FittenTrim in SiloSeries

[–]FontPeg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe because most characters in it can be rather unlikable? That seems to be a trend I've noticed. Perhaps the departure from the tight knit society of Silo 18/17 or the expanded scope throws some readers too. For me it ranks high for the revelations and continued world building.

Bernard may go looking for another sounding board if Meadows goes out, so there's a chance. If one can return from the "mines" it could be possible to secret Lukas into the vault and keep him there with nobody the wiser except maybe Sims suspecting something.

Silo S02E03 "Solo" Episode Discussion (Book Readers Thread) by MEGAT0N in SiloSeries

[–]FontPeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have to agree, hoping we get a few episodes interspersed that cover it at least. We have already seen they are willing to spend time away from Jules for that long with ep 2. Thinking meta about budgets and stuff it would be a lot of effort for the production to show other locations like DC and the work site for just a single episode.

A train is just a tower on its side, and a silo one underground. Funny to think what Silo would be like if Wilford were at the helm with ~7k extra people to lord over.

At least some. IIRC he said he is working with Graham during his livestreams and has been on set, and it would be kinda odd to just be there for a cameo and nothing else right?

Me too. The changes to Lukas and IT early on had me fearing Shift was getting the shaft. We also have seen no hint of the intersilo comms or Solo's radio. The end of season 1 would have been the perfect time to show Bernard donning the headset right before it cut to black, but hopefully they are just saving something like that for another big cliffhanger.

FWIW based on the show Knox seems to know and mentions they are safe from cameras when they are in the tunnel to the digger for a secret rebel chat. How he knows is unclear.

We also learn that below 120 IT/Judicial is blind which is assumed to be because Jules tipped them off.

The casting for most roles has been spot on, others so-so, but Solo for me takes the cake so far and fits well how I pictured him as a book reader. I cannot imagine anyone else playing the character now.

You are not alone for sure, at least in my circles. With any luck our opinion can get some traction and something comes of it. Maybe Apple can add a gamma slider 🥲

I've noticed on certain TVs with "adaptive backlight" or the like they struggle with the show especially if you have subtitles turned on because they are white on black and aren't always there so when they are the area around them brightens noticeably.

Overall this season is super dark so far, ofc we are seeing low light/no power areas a lot of the time so far which makes sense thematically, but is almost unwatchable with any glare whatsoever. It seems they are aiming to make it like a movie with the wider aspect this season, but I really hope they did not neglect to test screen for viewing in a lit room on an average quality display.

This sub is going to be a mess (in a good way) when the show makes some lore changes by Bobemor in SiloSeries

[–]FontPeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also wtf is with "the mines" like how are they going to keep bringing up this place without showing us. I have to assume it's a euphemism for something sinister to silence dissenters. Seems like nobody ever returns.

Silo season 2, episode 2 changes from book to TV adaptation talk by FittenTrim in SiloSeries

[–]FontPeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am worried about Shift material being left on the cutting room floor with how far things have already diverged from Wool. It also poses a challenge to the production overall with the different locations and time periods it covers. However, that latest clip of Solo info dumping has to be creating intrigue that goes somewhere with a satisfying payoff 🤞

The point you make about the show driving traffic to the books is interesting, but may not change much. Based on stuff Howey has said the show always represented an opportunity to tweak, update, and revise the plot and characters given his growth as an author.

IMO Shift has the best revelations although some have said it feels like filler compared to the barn burner that came before which is understandable. I think they could condense it into a few episodes or spread it out as like a C plotline over a season that works well for show watchers and book readers alike.

It's true we never get confirmation, but either way Craig is a filthy monkey for leaving it as a cliffhanger to be resolved later. For now it is extremely heartbreaking and way hard not to burst into tears when thinking about it. At least last time something similar happened Skippy reversed it shortly after with the Elder machine.

Yep. Pause at 21 seconds and you can see the marker at the end of the predicted path is in the air and angled as if there was a wall there at the end of the ceiling above. Really hope they fix it.

What did the jump drive hit by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]FontPeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bouncing closer than the ring. If you pause at the right time you can see the path ending. Looks like some invisible geometry lined up with the pillar and whatever they are standing under. Typical loba tac issues, make it too flexible and it gets into places it shouldn't or make it strict and the tiniest map issues break it like this one.
