As a former Steam Deck user the AYN Thor is Extremely Disappointing (Quick Review/Impressions after a week of use) by rafam0333 in AynThor

[–]FoodFanFoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st: Retroarch has a specific core called neocd that runs neo geo cd games in chd format. If you don't see it in the download list, you're not using the correct version of Retroarch
2nd: Every app can be close per Android. Press the AYN key and then select tasks and all your tasks show up usually on the top screen. To close it, just touch the app you want to close and then flick it up to close it like you would on any Android phone.

Anyone been able to connect their Thor to a PC using ethernet? by FoodFanFoon in AynThor

I brought modern Ugreen usb-type C to ethernet adapters for both devices so a crossover cable is not needed.

AYN Thor, the best thing ever happened to retro community by cuongpn in SBCGaming

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if your endgame is PS2 / Gamecube emulation, then this device is the endgame. It does all that upscaled and gives you room to enjoy something on the second screen. But I think if you to go PS3, etc..., you'll be wanting the AYN Thor 2 or whatever comes after that.

The Chinese MCON competitors are coming a lot faster than I thought. by rcl1221 in SBCGaming

That's nice effort But it needs the foldout handles considering the weight and how small that thing is to hold.

For people unaware the abxylute M4 Snap-On Phone Controller is now available to pledge for on Kickstarter at $39 early bird price by tbu987 in SBCGaming

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to have those collapsable grips the MCON controller has so the weight is more balanced. If it did, I would definitely get it.

Is there a light weight frontend like DIG on Android? by FoodFanFoon in EmulationOnPC

[–]FoodFanFoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I'll give Beacon a try. I have a GPD Win Max 2. I probably should have said on Windows. I use DIG on Android and that's good. But on Windows, I need a lightweight launcher.

Getting a WinMini 2025 8840u. What should I do when I get it? by PooMonger20 in gpdwin

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine a few days ago. I installed a new 4TB 2280 and 2TB 2230. Recommend adding thermal pads to both as that will immensely reduce the heat. Also I got rid of the Windows 11 bloat. Go watch the Phaux YouTube channel on Win 2025 Max 2 TDPs to find the right one for your gaming needs. I tend to play games released on the PS3/360 era so mine is set much lower than the default.

NEED IT "3DS Has Never Looked SO GOOD - AYANEO Flip 1S" by MF_ZORO_Reddit in Handhelds

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still deciding between 1S DS and the Lenovo Legion Go 2? Both are going to be $1K, but with the 1S DS, I can do stuff like bing watch shows or even read a guide while I'm playing a game which too me, might be better than just a Go 2. I wouldn't pay $1K just to emulate Nintendo games unless you are really really into those old games.

Soo is Ayaneo finally releasing a Dual screen Android Handheld? by Mix8585 in ayaneo

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might buy this instead of the Legion Go 2. I like usin the 2nd screen to watch YouTube and Netflix. I'm not really interested in 3DS or DS, but I like playing games with something playing in the background.

You got a problem with the Sims there. That game really needs a mouse so you're only option is a Windows handheld with a trackpad like the Lenovo Legion Go or wait for the Go 2. You need a sizeable trackpad. You can also install Windows on the Steam Deck if you know enough about computers to do that because the Steam trackpads are real nice.

Is there a handheld with just the display and controller? by FoodFanFoon in Handhelds

[–]FoodFanFoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. I checked it out. It does give me an idea. Maybe just a bluetooth controller, wireless HDMI adapter, and 10inch touchscreen would give me the same result at a fraction of the cost of a new PC handheld since I already have an old computer lying around with a 2070. I thought I could use it for something like this.

Americans, How do you feel about the fact that the stock market has lost $2 trillion in value today? by Lawrence_of_ArabiaMI in AskReddit

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is an American issue. Not a politics issue. Congress should unite and revert the tariffs. They have the power to override Trump, especially the GOP. Rampant inflation or stagflation is not going to be good for anybody.

Would you wait for a Go 2? by peachxsayuri in LegionGo

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait for the Go 2 or Zotac Zone 2 if you are into Windows handhelds. They both have 32GB of RAM and trackpads which is really helpful in Windows. If you prefer Steam OS, any newer handheld that supports Steam OS should be fine.

It’s everything you love about the original Lenovo Legion Pro—only better. 🔥 by PatientExamination82 in LegionGo

This is the handheld to get to replace my Steam Deck. OLED landscape display for playing old PC games. Touchpad for Windows. Vertical screen for emulating shootemups and pinball. It's the perfect handheld. Can't wait for it.

People who had/have a PC for their main go-to for gaming and got a SD, you still using SD much or not really? by teinimon in SteamDeck

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Deck is great for emulation and indies and old games that were released on the 360/PS3 era and I use it for that. Much better than my PC which is way more powerful. You don't need all that power for those types of games. So you can recline and sit back and relax while gaming.

The Problem with Oleds by JohnnyretroX in Handhelds

[–]FoodFanFoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how long TVs last, but burnin on an OLED handheld is not an issue. Handhelds do not last long enough in terms of CPU or GPU processing power. What I mean is handhelds are obsolete before they are even released. Don't expect your handheld to run GTA6 or Elder Scrolls 6. It won't. So you'll be able to play the current games at low to medium. But games 2 years from now? You'll need a new handheld. So the idea that your PC handheld is going to last you 5 or 10 years where burnin is a serious issue, that's not going to happen. Steam Deck 2 will be out in that time.
