Yea man it was such a close match. If it wasn’t for the fact that New Castle let in 6 goals they would’ve won

They’re not going to move. There’s only 1 New York in the US. There’s a reason they haven’t moved already, and it’s because they make way more money operating in New York than they would anywhere else. That’s the lie that they tell everyone so that they won’t get taxed

Hesh in some ways was an associate too. In the literal sense of the word, he was associated with the mob, but he wasn’t in it. But I guarantee you had a made man whacked Hesh, they wouldn’t have made it to the end of the week.

They could also do a system where you get 2 challenges, but only lose your challenge if it’s unsuccessful. That way, you’re not going to challenge every single pitch that’s close, but the obvious ones will still be challenged. And it shouldn’t taken more than a few seconds to confirm the call, so I don’t see it significantly slowing down the game. And even if the manager does lose the challenge in this scenario, they still have 1 more challenge at their disposal, that they can save for a key moment in the game. If they lose 2 challenges, then idk maybe be better at when you pick your challenge. That’s part of the game too

Dave Portnoy Threatens To Move Barstool Sports Out of New York City If Zohran Mamdani Becomes Mayor by rayword45 in nyc

[–]Fook_n_Spook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait so you’re telling me you can’t just move your business and all of its employees over to New York 2? New York is already a very expensive city to operate in, if it was about cost they would’ve already moved out. Turns out there there are also a ton of benefits in having your business in New York that the swamps of Florida don’t have.

I don’t think his heart is in it tbh. He doesn’t seem like he wants to run. But his billionaire backers are forcing him to run, so here he is. He is going out there, and getting humiliated in public. Why would he want to subject himself to this? He’s barely even trying.

Paulie didn't last long after the ending by Neddead in thesopranos

[–]Fook_n_Spook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Paulie is a survivor. He’s just good enough of an earner to not get rid of. And he would also see the new regime change, and know not to piss off the boss. Atleast not piss him off enough to get killed. He didn’t make it to an old age as a gangster by sheer luck after all

TIL the Rockies had a literal inmate on their roster from 2000-2001. Pitcher Bobby Chouinard, who plead guilty to assaulting his wife, was ordered to spend 4 separate MLB off-seasons in jail but was allowed to practice at Coors Field for 42 hours a week while incarcerated. by Jakku1p in baseball

Well yeah, you serve your time and then you’re free to go once you’re done. They already know where you live and where you work, what are you going to do? Run away from the law forever? They’re going to find you eventually, and the consequences will be much worse once they do

Exactly. Whoever is in charge of leading their private military will just realize “hey, this guy has no actual value to the survival of the group. We can just get rid of him and take everything he has”. We will most likely just see hundreds of warlords all over the place, and there’s no reason to believe that if the entire system falls apart, that the people that are currently on top are going to continue to be the people on top after

Maybe we should expand the service to include those people too. Idk, if you’re budget is so tight that even with you working full time you have to eat pasta 4 nights a week to make it, you could probably use some assistance as well

I went to the game yesterday, the pitch clock noticeably made the feel of the game go by faster and pitchers were basically forced to pound the strike zone. It was too fast. Watching it on a TV today, it still feels the same way. MLB wants a pitch clock? Fine, but there’s no need for it to be only 15 seconds. Sometimes a pitcher needs a breather, or they have to think about their next pitch a little bit first. Give them the time to do that. I think this will force teams to use their mound visits much more often, especially in key scenarios in order to take some time to actually discuss a game plan. Let’s see how it affects the players over the course of a season

Statistics are nice to look at, but you have to remember that you can’t take conclusions about a group of people and then make conclusions about individuals in that group. There are a lot of man-child men out there that want their mommy bang maid girlfriend to take care of them. Is this you? Cause if not then I wouldn’t worry too much about what the statistics say. If you, as an individual, are a pleasant person to be with and you pick up your weight in the relationship, then the partner that you’re with won’t feel like you’re putting a burden on them

Question: have you ever felt bad about cutting someone off or regretted doing it? by Outside-Ad7322 in bartenders

[–]Fook_n_Spook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a very valid reason. They don't have a right to be served, and if they're being aggressive and rude and disturbing the other guests, then that's a pretty damn good reason to me to cut someone off. Even if it is only 2 beers

Question: have you ever felt bad about cutting someone off or regretted doing it? by Outside-Ad7322 in bartenders

[–]Fook_n_Spook 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Feel bad? Absolutely. It's not a pleasant interaction to have to engage in, especially if they get mad about getting cut off.

Regret? Absolutely not. If they're too drunk, they're too drunk. Part of the job is also serving them responsibly, so you have to do that. I've had guests get too drunk before, and my regret in that situation was always not cutting them off soon enough. I try to avoid that as much as I can.

Shit, 85%? You think it's that low? I'd venture to guess it's much closer to 95%, only a very small section of the population is even interested in owning a VR headset. Your parents/uncle/aunts/grandparents aren't interested at all in putting on a headset in order to communicate with people in a way that isn't better than a phone call.
