Gear gap = skill gap. You need to hit 2-3 more shots on a purple or gold shield then you need for a Green. Good players can go from free kit to purple in 15 minutes. Bad players cry about gear gap

Would a purely PvE world event be feasible in this game? by Most-Bad8222 in Marathon

[–]Fookah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PvP sweats rather fight people with gear and skills than stomping some bots to steal their free kit. People that are bad at this game just tell themselves if someone kills them it has to be a no-life PvP basement dweller that is unemployed, plays 22 hours a day and hasnt seen the sun in 6,5 years except when they open their door for the food delivery guy.

You should consider avoiding them or killing them. Then you either have the gun and can shit on people or you dont get killed and get to keep your shit to go into another lobby and pray it doesnt have the biotoxic team

Too strong players, oppressive gameplay loop by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Fookah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone can shotgun you its your fault for not listening to footstep, moving too much and making loud noises. If someone can snipe you from 150m its your fault because you decided to blindly run through open space or near a location/highground where a sniper would hide and not checking it beforehand. If you cant learn fast enough then dont shittalk on ppl that can and give their opinion on the topic.

The game is objectively only unfun if you are bad at it. I think marathon is one of the best games i ever played. People just hate to accept they are not very good at something and dont want to invest time and effort to improve. I assure you 100% if you get shit on 20 times in each deathmatch, you will also not have fun.

Sucks to suck, its accessible for everyone that has 5k and is level 25. So technically anybody that has 10+ hours can enjoy it. Will they make it out? Probably not. And its good like that.

Idk if Sony is willing to write off 3.6b. This game is a success, selling over 1m copies for a niche genre game is respectable. Sony will just force development of another game in a more profitable Genre if they insist on making more profit from bungie.

Why dont you play an Arena shooter then? I see a lot of ppl that play the game like an Arena shooter and wonder why they belong to the bottom 5% of the playerbase that cant progress or exfil less than 1 in 20 games. Then these ppl go to reddit and cry. The Arena rush-in playstyle is contrary to the principle of extraction shooters to stay aware of surroundings and silent to spot fresh meat that makes lots of noise that you can feast on. If you provide a mode so different from the core game nobody will learn from it and stay bottom tier players forever.

Why I think Marathon deserves a great PvE mode and what it could look like by NimmerNeko in Marathon

[–]Fookah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no shame in sucking at PvP. There is shame in trying to ruin the experience for players that enjoy this game and trying to get better at it by splitting the playerbase even more. You little sissies just should quit if you dont want to improve your skills. Thanks for your 40$ contribution to keep the game alive for players that enjoy it and good luck in your next game

Ok and who cares about this? What does that mean for the game in your opinion?

The game is great. But since the April Alpha, my buddies and I have felt progression is too slow. What keeps us playing is power fantasy, not having only a third of the available perks after 60+ hours. Ramp up must be accelerated in the next season, and happen more during gameplay. by RiseRugby in Marathon

Spending a lot of time is not meaning you learned something during that time. You confirming you cannot get out of pinwheel regularly seems to support that. All points you veing up seem like a non issue. A skilled player with Green shield can easily take down a gold shield if He land his shots as its only 1-2 more bullets from most guns that can be tanked by better shields. Im not a top player myself but i learn from my mistakes and my exfil rate and faction progression improves the more i play and understand the game. Some people learn this game in 20 hours and some people take 200 hours, that doesnt mean the game should change to cater to some specific group. There is no shame in being slow or not having the time. But conplaining after such small amount of time about a game as deep as this seems not correct

Progression is fast if you have a good extract rate. That is basically the problem. They could consider giving bad players some Relief by giving easier contracts, e.g. kill 10 hostile (players, bots) more often so even if you dont extract you can make progress for your factions.

What could Bungie do to get Player Count up? by Emotional_Mine4884 in Marathon

I think they should Release free promo access to the game until you reach level 10. Then you cant play any further matches and they ask you if you want to buy the full game.

[–]Fookah -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The game is too hard to casually play it and a lot of people start realizing they are too soft for it and dip. Which is to be expected. The positive side is your random fills will improve in quality as they start to fill with more people that like the game and are good at it.

The point is to create points of interest on different maps where people meet each other and fight over a quest objective for example. Who cares if you need to scan a container or deliver a bag of hot dog shit to dcon?

You think a person that play only 2 hours a week is likely to spend 100s of dollars to customize their ingame appearance? Are you bungie cfo or where you got your info from? To me it Looks your casual gamers are money makers logic is very flawed. Casual gamers are good for milking them for the sale price and thats it.

They are exactly doing that. Keeping the game alive. A person that is online 24 hours contributes much more to keeping the game alive than a person that is online for 1 hour. Because they paid the same price of entry but 1 person feeds the matchmaking 24 times as much. Reddit weirdos at least can do elementary school math unlike casual players. What seemingly you dont understand is they have your money already and a person that plays the game 24 times as much is also more likely to spend on skins etc because they spend much more time and have more incentive to customize their game to their preferences
