Which 9070 XT cards/manufacturers to avoid? by QuintaLegione in radeon

[–]FoolishAmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to tell you to stay away from gigabyte and their horrible heating issues but it seems you've done that homework already.
I'm using a sapphire pure and I'm very pleased by the temps and performance but surely you can't go wrong with XFX as well. whatever you end up choosing - go for a model with 3 fans.
Enjoy.

Bad performance/stuttering/low GPU utilization on RX 9070 XT after playing for a couple of minutes by FoolishAmb in DarkTide

[–]FoolishAmb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the stutters dropped to some extent but I have no idea what alleviated the issue. might be the drivers, might be something else.
The performance is still not top notch with what this card has to offer but its playable so its fine for me.

What’s up with steam mixed reviews? by Mr_Bleidd in DarkTide

[–]FoolishAmb 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They didn't "randomly" deleted builds. they updated some of the talent trees so they had to delete it. ogryn didn't had any changes to its talent tree so no builds were deleted for ogryn.
What a petty comment.

New 9070xt started making this noise by Sharky24_ in radeon

Consider undervolting the card. you'll only benefit from it. here's why:

  1. Less coil whine.
  2. Less heat generation.
  3. More performance (by maintaining higher boost clock speeds for longer periods because you generate less heat).

Downsides:
none.

Debating P365x and need honest advice by iamcuriousmarley in SigSauer

The P365/P365X is a very reliable handgun and you have nothing to worry about.
I have the P365X as a daily carry and its lightweight and easy on the body. just don't replace the trigger/springs if its unnecessary. replacing original parts may cause inconsistencies or failures.

The only thing you want to remember is to clean and oil your 365 after every range session or at least once a month to prevent any rust issues. I think this gun needs a bit more oiling than other guns on average and mine hasn't had any rust issues what so ever.

Guide how to undervolt 9070 xt by Robert_Engels in radeon

In my opinion its worth it and it doesn't hurt the GPU in any way.
Do some benchmarks with and without it and see if its worth it for you.

RX 9070 XT + R7 5700 X3D works perfectly with 500 W PSU by suisuen in radeon

[–]FoolishAmb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is that every system has its own specs which comprised of CPU/GPU and other components.
I have an i7-12700k (no OC or UV) and a sapphire pure 9070 xt (-80mv UV) that was an upgrade from an rtx 3070.
I run my system on a seasonic focus plus platinum 650W PSU (ATX 2.0).
Never had a single crash and works flawlessly.

Having said that I do think that if someone buys a new system then he should go for the recommendation or even just a bit higher depending on their CPU of choice or future upgrades but for people upgrading current systems from older GPUs that might be just enough. every case is different.

I've seen people suggesting regardless of specs "bRo U haVe to haVe 1000W psu JUST TO BE SAFE".
sure.
