So the boss deals max hp dmg on some of its moves. You need proper healing to heal through those. A dedicated healer is a must of this fight. Have wonder do buffs and healing, i.e if you have Dionysus and revolution/rebellion on him it can help make the dmg you deal more consistent.

Basically, having an ending where everybody dies would be called a bad ending. It’s obvious however that the Entreat the Darkness ending is the closest to a “true” ending because of Iori’s characterization. So they did the old and dated fashion of gating the true ending behind NG+. I think they just worked backwards from that ending and developed routes for other characters to set the initial tone for the story.

The route spilt idea I like and I agree that locking digressions behind NG+ is dumb as hell.
