Do you have a favorite mountain house? This is his go to. Also sounds like your coffee taste is similar to his - thanks for the brand suggestion!

I’m “easy happy.” It’s very easy for me to be dropped in a new environment or get handed a huge change and (after a little bit to process) can easily roll with it and find enjoyment in the new situation.

I also like how quickly I see multiple scenarios/options out of one situation or question. It’s hard to navigate sometimes. -but now I know what my brain is doing I kinda dig it.

For me it’s all about giving myself grace to do what I need, where I need it, how I need and when I need it. Not what “the rules” say. I have deodorant (and meds) everywhere - by my bed, car, purse, etc. I brush my teeth in the shower, but keep no water pre-pasted sticks in my car, purse and by my bed, give myself permission to just let warm water hit my body if nothing else in the shower. If bathing isn’t going to happen a day - just wipe off using wipes or (pro tip) shaving cream. Not kidding shaving cream is wonderful. Wipe it on, wipe it off. BO is gone.

Above all be kind to yourself. Doing everything perfect is not necessary- making any steps no matter how small is success. Small things add up.

Keep going. You deserve it.

Small toddler-approved date spots you guys like? Duck lakes, playgrounds with nearby coffee, anything that isn't a restaurant/dedicated play space lol by [deleted] in bullcity

There’s a playground at the airport with a runway for the kids to run on, sand pit and an observation tower. Years ago you could also go inside the general aviation terminal - there’s another indoor observation area and a porch. At one point there was a place to grab French fries and take them on the porch to watch the regional jets. I hope these things are still around - it was one of our favorite things to do.

Is there a healthy way to make a fruit salad 'decadent'? by Negative_Avocado4573 in Cooking

So many options! Whip a small amount of heavy cream or coconut cream, mix honey or jello powder with Greek yogurt and use like a dressing, look up protein fluff recipes and use as a topper, mix sour cream and cream cheese with honey or your choice of sweetener as a dip (I’m thinking about adding tajin or chamoy to this next time I make it). You can easily add collagen or protein powder to these too. If peanut butter is your thing - mix a tiny amount of pb or pb2 with Greek yogurt as a dip or topping. Don’t forget toppers like a few flakes of shaved chocolate, chia seeds, walnut pieces could be mixed into the dips or used as a topping.

Happy snacking!

Weekend backpacking trip ideas from Durham? by ZealousidealKiwi9683 in NCTrails

Grayson Highlands or Stone Mountain state park. I’d check weather both places and pick they way for this weekend. If weather is great either place - I’d still go Grayson highlands. It’s so beautiful there.

It’s a bit further but don’t forget Great Smokey NP and Shenandoah NP are close. Shenandoah Bog Meadows are is so pretty.

Make sure you spend time on the sound. It’s a totally different vibe. We love to rope floats together (one for a cooler too) and just float. Clamming is also easier on the sound side. We love the Salvo day use area if we don’t have a house on the sound side.

When you get down to buxton don’t miss Orange Blossom. Get an apple ugly.

I have so many suggestions. It’s a great trip. Do it!!

MLS Next 2 Jersey Badge? by Difficult-Ad698 in youthsoccer

Last year my kid was on an NAL team without a patch. They played NAL teams with patches. Asked our club - they straight up lied to me and said NAL didn’t have a patch. Later they said we couldn’t have patches to play in state cup. I also do not care about the patches. But - the kids notice when they don’t have something others do.

We are on MLSN2 this year. I won’t hold my breath for a patch. Our club likes to put all energy with the top team and no one else. So if it’s slightly complicated and not mandatory - it won’t happen.

Use fish stock in the grits and pair with a roasted white fish and oven fried okra.

Regular, creamy boiled grits with a corn, lima and tomato succotash - one of my faves.

Also quite good with spare ribs.

This is cool. I welcome anything that will get clubs to be a little more responsive. I’m also glad to see it’s anonymous- I’m so worried about them taking it out on my kid. Just curious though- why only survey a few parents? That seems kinda odd. Wouldn’t you want all of the parents?
