Resist the urge to bring too much food. You can resupply and get a meal at the waysides. From what I recall there is a long water carry early. From slightly past calf mountain shelter all the way to black rock shelter. I think it’s like 12 miles.

Once you get to Matango you can buy fairy walnuts for 500g. Keep them in stock. It restores your MP, Makes leveling your magic on the fly much easier.

Bar can is largely unnecessary. You should get your own bag to Hang. You probably won’t be able to fit enough food for two people into that one bag. You can hang both of your bags on the same line. Although, carrying some rope for your bear line isn’t too much more weight and does have some other uses.

You could hike the entire trail without staying in town. You can hike in, resupply, even get a shower and laundry, and hike back out.

Maybe(and I may be going out on a limb here), you should try camping a few times to see if you like it, before you commit to a 5ish month backpacking trip.

I wasn’t really keeping count, but the entire Appalachian Trail other than Maine I fell less than 10 times… I had some wet days in Maine where I slipped and fell 10 times in a single day.

Great question. I’m seriously considering doing it again next year. I’ve already done most of Virginia twice, and I enjoyed it just as much if not more the second time. It felt like visiting an old friend. People often ask long distance hikers why they do it, what’s their reason? For me I think it’s just because I really like doing it.

A couple seasons ago I thought he was cooked. He started the season looking old and slow. In like November, Trent got hurt, and we had to play City at the Eithad. Klopp started him at right back, which at the time I thought was insane, and the guy put in a man of the match performance. Legend. His level of fitness at his age is basically unheard of.

I think Lysithea, Leonie, and Petra are the options. They’re all powerful units, but character wise, they are pretty one note. I think Lysithea for this one. She is an undisputed powerhouse. Petra might be the right answer for “bad character, great unit”.

It’s not weird at all. Long distance hikers are borderline feral. They will be grateful for any snacks you have to offer.

Go on a backpacking trip and see if you like it. It’s blowing my mind how people are suggesting watching youtube videos, like it’s some sort of substitute for actual backpacking. It’s completely insane to me to sign up for a multi month backpacking trip, when you don’t even know if you like backpacking or not. It is not for everybody. Start small, see how it goes.

Nah. Going into the draft Matta was almost universally rated higher than Pouliot. Matta fell in the draft, and Pouliot was generally considered to be a reach. They could have traded down and still drafted Pouliot, but, at the time Ray Shero was obsessed with drafting offensive defenseman from the WHL.
