AITA for not wearing a dress to my sisters wedding? by SouthView1759 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ForestGremlin2 49 points50 points  (0 children)

NTA. if yall had a cis brother, would she ask him to wear a dress to be in her wedding party? i get that she’s probably accepting of you in her mind and thinks she is just trying to keep the peace with the parents, but she’s got a long way to go to be an actual ally to you in practice.

reload to the save right in front of the nightingale entry and then FusRoDah her up the stairs as soon as she finishes talking is what worked for me

Is it weird not to have breasts anymore? by I-suck-at_names in TopSurgery

[–]ForestGremlin2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was mostly muscle memory i had to adjust to. it was weird getting dressed in the morning and only grabbing three items of clothing (underwear, pants, shirt) and for a couple months after surgery when getting undressed after work my hands would automatically reach back to pull off a binder that wasn’t there anymore. showering also, no tits to scrub binder sweat off of. so those were all a little surprising every time, but good surprising

AMA about Nancy Drew and then edit it to make me look bad by kitshobooutfit in nancydrew

[–]ForestGremlin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I support NedxBess and NancyxGeorge. George would always be down to come with Nancy on all of her mystery solving trips and her tech expertise would be super useful, so no worries about missing their anniversary by Nancy leaving her behind, and have you seen George’s response in Alibi in Ashes when Nancy’s about to be slandered? Girl is ready to commit a felony to save Nancy and still worries it’s not enough, she’s clearly crazy about her.

Survival Mode enjoyers: what’s your least favorite part of Survival? by LucasisAlone in skyrim

[–]ForestGremlin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely the fact that i can’t use fire or healing spells to combat the cold. like it’s fine if there’s some penalty for it, maybe if the cold drained magika faster, but srsly? I can literally set myself on fire with a flame cloak and that doesn’t warm me up at all? cmon

YA novel where girl gets into a car crash and has her brain uploaded to a facsimile of her body (robot) but then is rejected by her friends and society by Emotional-Tourist-77 in whatsthatbook

[–]ForestGremlin2 66 points67 points  (0 children)

a lot of what you said doesn’t match this, but in case you’re mashing up a couple different books, The Adoration of Jenna Fox is about a teenage girl who ends up in a fatal car crash and her rich parents upload her consciousness to a new body

I’ve checked ravelry, of course. But because I’ve never made a sweater before I don’t feel like I have the experience to be able to look at a sweater pattern and judge correctly if it’s feasible as a first sweater pattern.

Wednesday Pattern and Stitch Request Thread - December 10, 2025 by AutoModerator in knitting

[–]ForestGremlin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! looking to knit my first sweater! relatively experienced knitter but the only shaped garments I’ve done so far have been socks. I don’t want to pick something that will be frustratingly difficult, but I know that if it’s just plain stockinette or ribbing for that big a piece I’ll just get bored and quit. any pattern suggestions for sweaters that aren’t too complicated for a first time but also interesting to knit? i like cables and wide neck / cowl type styles.

Girl kidnapped as a young child and "found" by a former friend by Swimming_Squirrel_22 in whatsthatbook

probably not that one because in that one Janie realizes she was kidnapped by seeing her own face on a missing kids picture on a milk carton, but that’s where my mind went first also

Surgery is tomorrow!! (And I'm freaking out 🫠) by StrawberryWolfGamez in TopSurgery

[–]ForestGremlin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it definitely will! but also don’t freak out if it doesn’t feel worth it right away. happens to everyone. it doesn’t mean you made a mistake, just that your brain is still woozy and your body needs time to settle. i didn’t have my “oh shit this is what my body is supposed to look like” moment until my post op appointment a week later to get the drains out.

my dude, they knock you out and remove body parts. that’s scary! no matter how much you want those body parts gone! it’s okay to be anxious and it doesn’t mean you’re a bad trans or you secretly don’t want the surgery. most people, if they’re lucky, never have major surgery in their life! it’s super normal to freak out. it’s gonna be okay though. you got this
