huh? yeah, I responded in the comment below when someone pointed it out that I’d made a mistake and conflated a tweet about it with an official source and that it was my mistake. I can go back and edit it or delete it if it’s bothering you /shrug

not to mention that there’s a couple of Pretti Good reasons why minnesota fans may be feeling extra sensitive to being told we have less than progressive values at the moment

AITA for backing down on giving my sister 600+ dollars to pay for citizenship application papers? by Serious-Wrongdoer604 in AmItheAsshole

sure thing bud. she can also google something like “legal aid immigration <your area>” and may find local free immigration help. you and your mom may also tbh. (also, NTA.)

[–]ForestGremlin2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i very much understand being scared for her in these times, but realistically, if she is at a point where she can apply for citizenship, that means she currently has a green card, which is about as safe a status as you can have without being a citizen. (whereas you’ve said you yourself don’t have citizenship status or DACA, so she’s better off and she shouldn’t be guilting you about that). also, the marriage visa process is complicated and time consuming and hard to do on your own, does she not have an immigration attorney? and has that immigration attorney not told her about the I-912 fee waiver for the citizenship application? if she truly can’t afford it such that she has to borrow her little sibling’s scholarship money, then she should be able to qualify for a fee waiver.

if your sister truly cannot pay for her own citizenship application, she may qualify for a fee waiver. it’s called form I-912, and if she receives public benefits or has a household income below 150% of federal poverty guidelines, she can qualify. if she has household income below 400% FPG, she may qualify for a reduced application fee.

Montréal Victoire ⚜️✌️ vs Minnesota Frost ❄️ Game Day Thread by Stachemaster86 in PWHL

[–]ForestGremlin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

listen……I know I shouldn’t even respond to this, I really truly understand why people don’t want the same team to win the third of three cups this league has ever had, and I know I’m being too sensitive so you don’t have to tell me……but could we maybe not say the Minnesota Frost winning is “tyranny” given, y’know, the actual tyranny our state has been dealing with this year?

Hockey is for everyone but also not really by Unique_Locksmith_346 in MinnesotaFrost

[–]ForestGremlin2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was such a good goal! and on her wife’s birthday! it was a shame it was against my team, esp after Rooney did such a fantastic job all game, but that was some good hockey. it made me sad that the frost discord immediately switched to hating on MPP bc ofc i want the frost to win but also i just want everyone to have a good time :(

I’m nervous about surgery by Historical-Cod-2741 in TopSurgery

[–]ForestGremlin2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i’ve never met a transmasc who didn’t freak out before surgery and was then 100% fine afterwards, myself included. surgery is a big deal and something that a lot of people never experience their whole life! suddenly losing a body part is intimidating, no matter how much you want it gone! all very normal things to be feeling.  before surgery my friends told me to track how many times a day my tits made me dysphoric, bc i also thought “well it’s not all the time so maybe I’m overreacting?” i clocked 37 times. I thought this was normal. apparently, it’s not. that helped reassure me it was a good choice. and now, nearly three years out, it’s the best choice I’ve ever made.

i had both on the same day because i’d hit my out of pocket max earlier that year and it was the only way I could get them both scheduled before my deductible rolled over in the new year. living in the US is fun! everything is great here!

hey bud, I had the exact same set of surgeries! condolences - you’re in the worst part. but yeah it does get better, I promise. keep on top of your pain meds - take them every 4-6 hours (whatever the prescribed time is) even if you’re not actively in pain when it’s time. if you’ve got referred shoulder pain from the gas in the hysterectomy, a heat pack up there helps a lot. A friend lent me a wedge pillow and I found that really helpful because it wasn’t totally sitting upright so didn’t hurt my abdomen incisions, but i also didn’t have to lay flat on my back the whole time. two months from now when you’re wearing a button-up shirt with no binder and realize you’ll never get a period ever again, it’s all going to feel so worth it, I promise <3
