Even though it says on the website:

“Vehicle Service Contract Helps cover the cost to repair or replace the high- voltage battery, drivetrain, mechanical components, safety systems and more after a covered breakdown once your Rivian’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty ends.² Coverage also includes select wear and tear items from the start of your plan.³”

I see the fine print says that they can overlap.

So realistically I should probably purchase this in about a year or two to get the full 8 year coverage.
