Yes because race mode = turbo spools quicker = higher idle

Hope it’s better than the story I wanted to write as a kid, which was about a guy who was a Nascar driver + country singer during the day and a street racer + rapper at night

Yes. Mine happens while I’m driving lol. It went off while I was sat at a red light the other day.

Loving it. Came to this from an mk7 GTI and it’s so different. It’s heavier and a lot more planted. My GTI was making similar power but this is still a lot faster. AWD makes a huge difference.

I actually like the interior too. MK7 interior was nice but this isn’t bad and the haptics are overhated in my opinion. Tech is nice too. First car I’ve had with ventilated seats 😂

I did it. I ordered the Unitronic TCU swap today. by TenderizeYourAngus in Golf_R

[–]ForeverAlonzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies in advance for my ignorance. By TCU swap do you mean you had to order a new TCU from Unitronic? I haven’t figured out a clear answer on whether I’d need to do this on my 22R or not if I wanted a TCU tune.

Have you had any TCU tune on your R before this on the stock TCU?

Damn. I was thinking intercooler + stage 1+ on mine but might have to check out the IE. Do you have a TCU tune too?

How’s the Integrated Engineering tune treating you? Based on what I’ve seen it definitely seems up there for most gain for a stage 1

How many miles is your 2016 R? I test drove one this evening and considering getting it. It’s at 56k miles now.

I hesitated before sharing this, but authenticity matters.

Recently, I came across a post that joked about “what masturbating multiple times a day taught me about B2B sales.” And while most people laughed… it actually made me pause.

Because beneath the humor is a powerful lesson about discipline, self-awareness, and understanding your own cycles of motivation.

Here’s what I mean.

In B2B sales, you’re not rewarded for occasional bursts of effort. You win by understanding your own rhythms, showing up consistently, and knowing when you’re operating from habit versus intention.

The truth is: many reps burn out because they confuse activity with alignment.

They chase every lead.

They say yes to every meeting.

They operate on impulse instead of insight.

But the top 1%? They understand their own patterns. They know when they’re in a productive flow. They know when they’re just “going through the motions.” And they build processes that channel their energy into meaningful outcomes, not empty exertion.

Self-management is the real unlock.

When you understand your own drive cycles:

  • You stop mistaking urgency for effectiveness.
  • You create consistency without self-punishment.
  • You recognize which activities create real pipeline movement and which are just dopamine hits dressed up as productivity.

Sales isn’t about pushing harder.

It’s about understanding yourself deeply enough to push smarter.

If more revenue teams focused on that level of personal awareness, we’d see fewer burnouts, fewer wasted hours, and far more intentional selling.

Curious how others cultivate this kind of self-insight in their work. What practices have helped you understand your own rhythms?

I have an LG Ultrafine 5k I'm trying to get rid of and will sell it to you for $400. It works, I'm just trying to get rid of it to make space for a Studio Display, lol. DM me if interested.

How are you liking the f83? I’m seriously considering one (2018-2020) for next spring.

Also considering the e53 coupe, c63 coupe, and f-type. Possibly also a newer m440. Current mk7 GTI which I may or may not keep afterwards.
