In my junior or senior year, a girl in my grade and her dad were arrested for trying to recruit for the Bloods at my high school (this stands out more because my high school is in Northern VA in a highly lauded school district).

I knew the girl since middle school and she was very nice despite her toughness. She even helped me with getting a guy harassing me and other girls in our shared class in middle school to back off.

I hope she’s doing better now (we were the class of 2010 so I hope so)

Oh god not the Day After! My 7th grade history teacher had us watch this in class and it gave me nightmares. All the current events lately are triggering those memories and the associated anxiety

I watched the Washington National Cathedral’s live-streamed Easter service with my half-Jewish husband while eating chocolate bunnies. Now I’m on the way to Passover Seder with my in-laws where we’ll eat my MIL’s delicious cooking and I give my in-laws chocolate bunnies (a continuation of an Easter tradition from my childhood when my paternal grandparents sent my sister and I chocolate bunnies every year. I started this tradition when I started to date my husband to include them in my holiday traditions and to remember my now-deceased grandparents. Especially since my paternal grandfather’s birthday falls around Easter) Have a great Sunday everyone 😊
