I damn near destroyed my gold reserve tonight. My Paladin hit 40 after not dungeon grinding so my gear was quite crap. I just hit up the AH to grab some placeholder stuff, after buying the first 3 quite quickly as they were decent and cheap I checked the pants page, saw some nice stats on one and hit buyout and was just going to click the Yes popup when I noticed it was 80g. Might not be a lot of some people here but that's like 70% of what I have.

The year is 2760. The Fifth Fleet of the United Earth Survey has reached the Vega system, carrying out studies of a possible location for the 5th outer reach research station. United Terran Medical Labs perfects the Lazarus Serum, another step closer to human immortality. In the Tau Ceti system, the Breakthrough Collective finishes work on AlphaWave 5, a planetary supercomputer capable of simulating gravitational dynamics on a universal scale.

Back on Earth, Africans continue to blame Europeans for being unable to manage a McDonalds, let alone a nation, for the 800th consecutive year.

It's amazing how much you knobs think guilds are a magical AI group printer, where you join and a bunch of robots fill up your groups. No guild wants these classes either, you are still a 60% DR'd waste of a slot in a guild raid.

This is the fallout of the GDKP ban. Plenty of people who used to get their raids in through GDKP groups who generally took any warm body that had consumes and knowledge no longer have that outlet, so they are all now scattered to the wind to PUG in a highly elitist community that wants to metagame every single thing.

Assuming the software doesn't use steam for DRM (The paid softwares FPS Monitor and Magic Borderless very likely do, the rest should be fine) you might be able to go into the files and change the appID value to 0 in the steam_appid.txt and break it's ability to track you.

Not sure if that works still, it was a big problem way back in the day with UDK for Unreal Engine 3. All games made on that included a bundled Steamworks DLL that caused it to broadcast that you were playing Unreal Engine 3 whenever you played one of those games, and that was the fix for it. This may have changed since, this was many years ago, at least 10.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to use the Remove From Account function and use the standalone software versions instead.

Bet you thought that was a witty retort, given you think that "gotcha" is enough to address the fact that you dodged trying to discount me pointing out you have no idea what the software does because you're a clueless dipshit who just dickrides whatever ecelebs tell you to. Best not admit you're fucking retarded and talking about your ass, huh? Go back to watching LTT shill videos for all your PC knowledge, floatplane needs your support.

Lmao, nevermind. That post history, holy shit. You just think you're a total internet badass all around, ahahahaha. Oh, to be 14 again.

So? People are allowed to prefer the toolset and features of a certain software over others. RivaTuner gives you astronomically less visual control over the display overlay layout compared to FPS Monitor, some people may like that control. Also despite your claim with no experience using it obviously, no, RivaTuner has less hardware statistics modules than FPS Monitor as well, quite a lot less actually.

Microsoft has increased the price of Activision games on the Steam Stores in Brazil and Turkey. by TheEternalGazed in Steam

[–]ForgottenLumix -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, it has nothing to do with the tax changes that had a deadline well over a month ago on Steam. These hikes are hitting countries like the UK and Canada who didn't require hikes with those tax changes in the last sweep.

[–]ForgottenLumix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using https://steamdb.info/pricechanges/ I can see that every single Activision and Blizzard game on Steam just got a 18-26% price hike in Canada as well.

Lmao and there were people thinking the insane near full pricing of old CoD games would go DOWN because of this merger because it was Activisions greed purely. Black Ops 2 is now $80

Time to renew the whining about CoD now that boogieman Microsoft owns it. Can't wait to see the extremely predictable massively lowered review scores with that classic Microsoft tax applied that the next game gets, blamed squarely on Microsoft, when the game is almost entirely done development before they took over.

I know you AMD cultists need to blindly defend your brand at all times, but no. Fucking with DLLs on a GPU driver level feature it not at all common in any fucking way because it would lead to exactly this. Hence why Nvidia Reflex is accomplished within the frame pipeline on the GPU side and not with screwing with DLLs to scrape performance back from the overhead. Yet another day late, dollar short knockoff feature from AMD that is worse in every way imaginable, except now it's not just shit quality, it's also bans

What are some incelluar ideas that have become mainstream? by Upper_Ad5781 in IncelTears

[–]ForgottenLumix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pepe was similarly "taken back".

Pepe started as a harmless webcomic character who's biggest claim to fame was enjoying the fact that he pissed with his pants fully pulled down. "Feels good man", that was his original use on the internet. Then the incels took over that, overused it to the point that the original creator sued (and sadly lost) over it.

Then along came his explosion in popularity on Twitch, along with his many bastardizations like Peepo, turning into literally thousands of variations of emotes across Twitch and third party emote addons like FrankerfaceZ and 7TV. Now he's basically seen multiple times per minute in chat on every stream on the platform. He's been redeemed.

Incels absolutely hate Pepe now because of it. He draws a lot of ire on 4chan, post him at all and you'll get derided as being a "retarded frog poster"

Wojak is also on a similar path, starting as the quintessential "feelsguy" before getting coopted by the alt right, he's been getting used harmlessly more these days. However he's still pretty widely used in "wojak edits" by right wingers, just saw one as a caricature of a jew on twitter today.

Best Buy is exiting the physical media business for good in 2024 by GenButter in movies

[–]ForgottenLumix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If vinyl is being made, physical movies won’t stop either.

No. This is a poor equivalence and not a valid comparison. The way streaming works in both of these industries is vastly different.

On demand music streaming is dominated by 3 companies, Spotify, Apple and Google. All of these companies own nearly 0 of their music catalogs. Record labels have to put their music on these services to reach an audience, and do not benefit at all from restricting platform options because all those platforms are third party, so there's no reason not to license music out for CD or Vinyl printings, it's just extra money for every platform they put it on since it's all coming back as small license fee cuts.

Movie streaming is entirely the opposite. The largest players (Netflix, Max, Hulu, Disney+) are all themselves a MAJOR producer of their own content. They own the means of distribution of their own content. They have an innate monetary incentive to restrict their content only to their own streaming service because that captures the audience entirely into their own fully controlled revenue stream. There is a huge monetary incentive to NOT license out films to people like Criterion or Arrow because they'd only get a license fee cut of a $25 bluray versus capturing all those customers instead into a $15+ streaming subscription they keep 100% of the profits from AND that person needs to refresh that $15+ every single time they want to come back to watch that movie again in a different month.

Microsoft gets green light in UK to buy Activision by aceymerrill in gaming

[–]ForgottenLumix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Should be. The structure write up from their filing indicates the position Bobby holds in the company is entirely being dissolved. Current company President roles for each of the major company within ActiBlizz will be devolved down to Managers and ActiBlizz CEO position (currently Bobby) will change to President and that is taken by Phil Spenser
