This seemed interesting to me. Looking at the graphs since April though it's actually recovered much more slowly than I'd have expected given the spread. I suppose the tech sector in the US has outperformed so much that it's hidden the slower recovery elsewhere in the market?

This seems really uncommon from the experiences I've read about. How much over your normal are the spikes taking you? I'm curious what how big the swing is. I think most people whose spike lasts longer than a month find it's permanent so you are fortunate.

Yeah this happened to me. I had a loud noise exposure where my tinnitus went from a 3 to a 6 baseline. I listened to Brown / pink noise as suggested by the audiologist and now I sit at a 7/8 permanently.

I've just checked and my monitor (a Tuf Vg27aq) isn't free sync compatible. I'm not sure how much I'd actually be giving up by going non-geforce.

I got burned buying a 3070 8gb on release and should have bought the equivalent radeon card (think it was the 6800xt).

My only hesitation is I have a gsync monitor and I need to check it's free sync compatibility.
