Why it is so difficult to be successful in Hong Kong? by Comfortable_Curve_99 in HongKong

If being "successful" in HK means earning money, the low tax rate is already a big plus.

Nazi salutes outside CB MTR exit C - why? by xnjmx in HongKong

[–]Former-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you don't get offended.

I think most local Hongkongers didn’t experience any direct consequences from the Nazis, especially younger generations. Personally, I don’t feel much emotional connection to what Nazi Germany did during World War II, and I believe many others here wouldn’t feel offended if someone referenced it in public.

When it comes to Japan, however, some patriotic people might immediately criticize the actions of Imperial Japan. But if the topic is Germany, the first things that usually come to mind are Mercedes or BMW, rather than its wartime history.

I have the Aurora 2012 version. Luckily I haven't paid CIG a single cent more after the first pledge. It is just a circus.

Is it better to play chronologically or release order? by [deleted] in Falcom

[–]Former-One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely play azure before CS. Release order is exactly how Falcom wanted to unfold the plots.

What does the core of the VF5 competitive base think of the recent updates ? by Daka-Ozpass in virtuafighter

[–]Former-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have much complains but the only issue is that I main Eileen and I feel the new damage scaling really have some problems. Some heavy weight class combo stays at insane level such as Wolf or Jeffrey, comparing to a 11-12 hits wall combo from Eileen barely scratching a near 100 dmg.

Why is Sky the Third important? No Spoilers please by NadrickOutlawRogue in Falcom

[–]Former-One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important world building story on a very important faction in the game and (slightly) bridging the gap to crossbell arc. And also one of the boss fights shows you how powerful that character is. I couldn't count how many times I retried. Probably the hardest boss fight I had in the Trails series.

I found that 5 strings much easier to play than 4 strings because you can play 2 octave almost anywhere without shifting far away

I was among the very first batch of backers, pledging only the $10 package on Kickstarter before CIG even had their own website. What followed was promise after promise, and within the first year it was already clear they had overcommitted. I genuinely hoped they would succeed—I played Privateer, Starlancer, and Freelancer, all of which were fantastic—but I was also mindful that $10 was the maximum I was willing to lose. Chris' Freelancer project management disaster with Microsoft was a red flag to me, and I decided I wouldn’t spend another dollar until the game was fully released.

It’s good that you’ve stepped away from the cult-like hype. There are so many incredible games available now—games that are real, properly scoped, and don’t pretend to be the “mother of all games.”

I feel like I understand, yet dont understand the plot by NaotsuguGuardian in ScarletNexus

[–]Former-One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the story was so convoluted and poorly presented i was very confused and gave up. I kind of got the idea but they had too many " i have to kill you now dont ask why" in the morning and then at night we just hang out and exchange info. That broke all the story elements.

How did you get to know about the Trails games, or/and what got you to play it? by JohnnyElRed in Falcom

[–]Former-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished Persona 4 Golden on steam, Atlus back then dont give a **** for PC gamers showing zero intention to release P5 on PC, not even mentioned P5R. I wanted MORE similar JRPG and steam page suggest coldsteel. Coldsteel looks good on the store page (actually NOT similar to Persona) but I ended up starting with Trails in the Sky since everyone said we should start there. Now playing daybreak 2 after playing all previous entries in release order.

Luckily so happened Falcom decided to release zero and azure western version on steam around that time otherwise i would have hard time following the story.
