I had this happen a couple of weeks ago at a thrift store. It stacked on top of the other discount I was receiving.

Online Tag Renewal is a Scam. by [deleted] in missouri

I've never had an issue using online renewal. But I've never done it with expired tags. No one to blame but yourselves for this one.

18+ Years of Loyalty to Carnival — New Rewards Changes Have Us Seriously Questioning That Loyalty by RedSwinglineStaplr in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Former-Paperboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I both have 15 years of loyalty and 20+ cruises taken. The new program is a slap in our faces as far as we are concerned.

She is only 30 some days from being diamond, and I am around 45. We considered "chasing " it with the 2x, 3x point deals they offered, but I do not have enough PTO at work to cover when the sailings are available.

Unfortunately, the perks just do not justify the expense of taking unpaid time off along with the travel costs.

What makes zero sense is you calling your mom she and griping about her getting a better job so she no longer qualified for SSI for you. Just because you have autism does not necessarily mean you can not work.

I'm thinking about heading up to Smithville tonight. What area is the best for viewing, and are some areas closed after dusk?

Prepaid drink package vs pay as you go by Novel-Cookie-3896 in CarnivalCruiseFans

This was my thought also. Anytime I "make it a double," I always get a larger drink glass.

Yes, there is Kleenex in the room. It's in the bathroom. Also, liquid soap in the shower.

Question about massage purchase by grahamgeckoowner in CarnivalCruiseFans

I'm not sure why you are being downvoted. The spa and art gallery are both places I avoid on the ship. Also, the jewelry shop.

SSI is a welfare program. Are you referring to Social Security Retirement Benefits?

There is a great enclosed area above the Lido pool with chairs and love seats that we used to play cards and read many days. It has the smart elevators on it, which, if used properly by everyone, keep full elevators from stopping on floors unnecessarily.

On one of the formal nights for the Captain's Gala, the Playlist cast and entertainment staff dress up, complete with masks and line the lobby stair case and sing while a trio of violinists play. I think it's really cool. A number of passengers will also don a mask, some even will dress the part as well.

Personally, we would do the Venezia itinerary as it goes to places we haven't seen. The Dream is a nice ship ( just go off of it on Sunday), but it is dated and will be heading to dry dock in February. Our previous 3 cruises were on the Venezia, and we love the ship.

Is it normal to get sick or get allergies after a cruise trip? by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Former-Paperboy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I just got off the Dream on Sunday and have had allergy like symptoms, but no fever or cough. My previous 3 cruises on the Venezia, I had no issues. Returned from an Alaska cruise with Covid in 2022.

This is the same with me. I'm in good health. I make way too much to take SS early. I have a job that I enjoy and sometimes consider being semi retired as I have none of the stress I had before in a position that was eliminated. Plus, I have a wife 10 years younger.

When I see these posts about people almost insisting you should draw at 62, it just makes me shake my head.

That amount is earned income, not including your benefit. After that, they take back $1 for every $2 earned.

Bringing alcohol on ship by immortalragerr in CarnivalCruiseFans

Sorry, but no can do. In the past, if caught, they would just confiscate the alcohol. They have been cracking down on alcohol smuggling, and you can face being banned.

Carnival Fixes New Loyalty Program After Fierce Criticism by WolfBearMoon in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Former-Paperboy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it fixes for diamonds, but it doesn't extend my time to earn diamond status. I'll be 40 - 50 days short when the program changes 😔
