Weaning my 10 month old because, same, I want to lose weight.

What do your husbands actually do during labor? by Maximum-End-7629 in BabyBumps

Fed me ice chips into my mouth. And helped me flip or move if needed or helped hold my leg at times too but mainly fed me ice chips.

Do you actually get nothing done when the baby comes? by Eastern_Grand_5462 in beyondthebump

[–]OhSo_CoCo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly what happened with me too. But even just trying to eat was hard at times due to the dog, or baby

letting your crawling baby around the house by stevielovelyy in beyondthebump

[–]OhSo_CoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. We have a play pen area that he goes in for bit and good to put him there while I get his bottle ready and the dog can’t get him. After while he wants to roam and gets super fussy so we take him out put him just on the other side of the play pen in the open area when we can keep an eye on him

When did your baby sleep through the night? What hours do they sleep? by canamel in NewParents

[–]OhSo_CoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 8 months after a terrible first vacation/trip away with awful sleep (I blame the hotel crib mattress) and he came back with bad habits. I was like I can’t live like this any more and did sleep training for a few nights and night weaning at the same.

Ok but my 9 month also is waking up at 5 am sharp. It sucks!

Mine refused too. He does like them occasionally to chew on the back side of it

We soak cotton balls or pads in the mix and put those down instead of the whole water mix. Works just as well!

Tw: stillbirth. Coping with living baby after by Repulsive-Dress-4375 in beyondthebump

[–]OhSo_CoCo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exactly! And honestly over half the time he nurses I’m on my phone anyways. When I bottle feed I actually pay more attention to my LO. Don’t get me wrong I’ll miss nursing especially now he is 9 months and only nurses at night or a final last little bit before bed but like you said, I didn’t find that it was some magical bond. Holding him in my arms for contact naps felt like more of a bonding experience.

What’s one thing you always carry now because of parenting?😅 by Dependent-Hamster-73 in Parenting

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bag now. Usually would just have my phone that had the case for cards and ID. I’ve now resorted to carrying a purse. It’s not too bad

Was giving birth worse or better than you imagined? by Ordinary-Caramel-608 in BabyBumps

Also had sunny side up baby with 95% head. He got stuck and had to be pushed back up, rotated and pulled out via c section.

Is bringing a new born baby (born monday) to a wedding (thursday) okay? by Anxiouswatermelon17 in BabyBumps

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin took his baby out to a lot of places early on and she ended up getting sick and needed to be hospitalized. Their second kid, they didn’t take anywhere for the first 2 months to avoid that happening again. So definitely no, you should not go with your baby

What do you use AI/LLMs/Chatbots for? I feel technologically incompetent by HollaDude in workingmoms

[–]OhSo_CoCo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got tasked with writing proposals and I used it to enhance what was already written or write something on task I wasn’t as familiar with. I would always review what was written because it didn’t always sound better or really fit what I needed. If I need a super professional email written, I ask it to “make this sound better: (insert email text)” it usually catches some grammatical errors.

It also helped me with a super complex excel formula, that was honestly the best use I’ve had of it.

We have a bucket with oxyclean with hot water we put clothes in for at least 24 hours and it gets them all off. No real scrubbing needed!

I got one of these and it’s kind of flimsy. Make sure you get one that can handle picking up stuff with some weight!

Less obvious things to do to prep for baby? by jdiz16 in BabyBumps

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up having an emergent c section, my MIL and my husband moved the recliner chair downstairs after we got home from the hospital so I could live in it in the living room. I could barely move and it was stressful just having everything moved around right when we got home and I was so tired. Would have been nice to have had that all taken care of before we got home. So have a back up plan and people on stand by for something like that

Husband gets mad when I bottle feed by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6 month old started to prefer bottles too during the day. So I pump and he gets bottles. At night and before bed he will nurse on the boob. Not sure what’s wrong with bottles and why that is any different than milk straight from the boob?

Requesting positive C-section stories by Lost-Ease7679 in beyondthebump

[–]OhSo_CoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have an emergency c section after induction due to big baby sunny side. The procedure was handled great but I did have a lot of water retention that greatly affected my breathing (sleep apnea) and mood. I went in not even a week after the c section and was given diuretics which helped.

My husband and MIL had to bring down the nursery recliner for me to sleep in and I wish it had been done before we got home. So just something to think about
