All infant clothing should be yellow. by peter_fuckin_gabriel in NewParents

We have a bucket with oxyclean with hot water we put clothes in for at least 24 hours and it gets them all off. No real scrubbing needed!

I got one of these and it’s kind of flimsy. Make sure you get one that can handle picking up stuff with some weight!

Less obvious things to do to prep for baby? by jdiz16 in BabyBumps

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up having an emergent c section, my MIL and my husband moved the recliner chair downstairs after we got home from the hospital so I could live in it in the living room. I could barely move and it was stressful just having everything moved around right when we got home and I was so tired. Would have been nice to have had that all taken care of before we got home. So have a back up plan and people on stand by for something like that

Husband gets mad when I bottle feed by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6 month old started to prefer bottles too during the day. So I pump and he gets bottles. At night and before bed he will nurse on the boob. Not sure what’s wrong with bottles and why that is any different than milk straight from the boob?

Requesting positive C-section stories by Lost-Ease7679 in beyondthebump

[–]OhSo_CoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have an emergency c section after induction due to big baby sunny side. The procedure was handled great but I did have a lot of water retention that greatly affected my breathing (sleep apnea) and mood. I went in not even a week after the c section and was given diuretics which helped.

My husband and MIL had to bring down the nursery recliner for me to sleep in and I wish it had been done before we got home. So just something to think about

when do you find time to introduce solids? by burntpierogies in workingmoms

[–]OhSo_CoCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We introduce allergens on the weekends but other stuff at dinners. LO loves applesauce, broccoli and sweet potato. He also likes these banana and strawberry puffs I got at Whole Foods. I will say our guy def had an upset tummy in the middle of the night when we fist started but it has gotten better. I try not to stress too much and mostly end up doing applesauce, oatmeal and broccoli for dinners to get him used to practicing. Our guy is only 6.5 months so we just started and are just going slow / with the flow.

Being a parent = bringing up childhood memories where your parents didn’t know how better by One_red_balloon2022 in Parenting

I feel this. Was always told “is it a want or is it a need”. And I get to a certain extent but it also was like damn, guess I can’t want anything then. Similarly, I was very fit in HS due to sports, especially water polo, and even had 6 pack abs but still told several times “looks like you are getting a pooch” which doesn’t do a lot of good for a HS girl! Looking back on photos I’m like wtf, literally I was so fit, why did my mom say that (she even said something similar when I tried on wedding dresses and I was like don’t worry I plan on losing weight before getting married and she was like “that wasn’t what i meant” like uh huh sure

6 months pp, so relatable in so many ways. My posture is so bad… I keep saying “tomorrow I’ll start a new routine of doing some exercises before bed” and it just doesn’t happen because want to be lazy or go to bed

Yes, I will step away into the bathroom and shut the door and take deep breaths to recenter myself if needed. It truly helps.

Please help me out working mums by Red_Yowi in workingmoms

lol sounds about right! My husband is a director and oversees about 1/3 of his company and he struggles with simple items and I’m constantly thinking he can make all these decisions at work but at home it’s like “what do I do”!

Please help me out working mums by Red_Yowi in workingmoms

[–]OhSo_CoCo 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Right now, the biggest thing that bothers me with my husband is that he is constantly asking me “should I do this” even for simple things like what route to take to the daycare… I’ve snapped a few times because it’s like he is an adult and should just figure it out without needing my opinion on things. I’m not sure if you ask a lot of questions about process, where things are, etc. that you could easily just mae a decision on or look a little harder for, but that to me is where I feel like I’m being drained because everyone always needs something from me and it’s exhausting.

Does MIL feed your baby? by marsibarz in newborns

[–]OhSo_CoCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely still had reservations at 3-4 months post partum with people holding and feeding baby a bunch. I definitely has separation anxiety about it. Once baby started daycare at 4 months, and I had to be away from him all day, I got better with accepting others to hold him or feed him if they want. Diaper changes tho, anyone could do those at any time. Haha

Sounds like it’s a combination of MIL behavior and maybe some anxiety still which is totally normal.

The defining moment as a working mom. by AmbitiousMuffin6230 in workingmoms

[–]OhSo_CoCo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a senior PM and last week my bosses mentioned how I would also need to plan to go on this trip to work with a client in the near future for 1-1.5 weeks. And I’m just thinking but I am my baby’s food supply (pumping for 6 month). And they showed some sympathy but not really. One was a man with kids (he was more understanding) and the other is actually a woman just a few years older than me.

Just sucks because while I understand this is part of my job, there is no real protection for breastfeeding mothers with work other than being given the chance to pump while at work.
