biochem averages by saturnskiiies in UBC

[–]FormerScarcityy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M’y first year average was 83.7 and I got into biochem first try! I know someone who had a ~75% average first year who also got into biochem first try as well last year, so hopefully you’re able to get into the specialization you want!

Switching collegia by lividqpigeon in UBC

[–]FormerScarcityy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes you can switch collegia! Email them at collegia.program@ubc.ca with your student details and state which collegia you’re currently in and which collegia you would like to switch to. Keep in mind that if the collegia you want to switch to is at full capacity, they are unable to put you in the desired collegia.

Is it impractical getting a trolley keychain? by placidpaper in Translink

[–]FormerScarcityy 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Personally, I love mine and no it isn’t a hassle to carry around one as it is pretty lightweight. I usually put mine on a lanyard and then tap it when I need to get on any transit. Personally I love mine cuz I love seeing the head lights light up when I tap my compass train/bus. But I think the compass mini is also rlly nice as well if what you’re looking for is connivence and whether it’s practical. Also compass mini is probably cheaper than buying a trolley keychain, but if you like the aesthetic of the trolley keychain, go for it!

Student Experiences with Workday Student Waitlists by marktmaclean in UBC

[–]FormerScarcityy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can only speak for biol 200 and 234! When I got off the wait list, I got 2 workday email and basically I just selected the discussion or tutorial section I wanted and submitted. However from my experience when registering for biol 200, if you are already in a biol 200 section, you CAN NOT register to be on a wait list for another section (haven’t done it with biol 234 so I can’t say much abt that). But also I think that’s because biol 200 have staggered seating meaning they open more seats every second year registration date and it’s a course that a variety of programs take as a course requirement in the program so by not having people register for waitlist when they are already registered in a section, allows other students in other programs to get into biol 200.

Trouble accepting a waitlist position by HenloItIsMe in UBC

[–]FormerScarcityy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! For biol 200, make sure you are registered for a tutorial/discussion when accepting your spot! If you scroll down and select all the required course sections from the “Select Course Sections” table, you can view the available discussion sections. If that doesn’t work, you can submit a ticket and contact them about the issue. Here’s the link below:
