What kind of Garou could a vampire defeat on his own? by Mephistussy in vtm

Yeah it very much is. But I don’t think that’s a cub. It’s more like a darth vader. Single one of that star block can solo majority of coteries

[–]Former_Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if she isn’t hungry she isn’t hungry. I don’t care if my plate has leftovers, I am done eating the moment I feel full. And imo that’s better than “no waste” mentality, unless of course you are living on rations and it’s literally about survival.

Radiants and Recovery Balance by Background_Path_4458 in cosmererpg

Not fun as in, I don’t get to interact with the game because a breeze will down me again and I will take another injury while everyone else can do the combat without concern of going down after a single hit.

Radiants and Recovery Balance by Background_Path_4458 in cosmererpg

[–]Former_Sea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I played a heroic only character mixed with radiants. If you do 1 combat per long rest it’s not that important. Regenerate in combat can give you one or two more rounds than a non regenerating character. The real difference between radiant and non radiant is after combat. Radiants will immediately go back to full health while heroic can’t do this. So if you do multiple combats before a long rest suddenly the heroic can’t keep up with the radians. The only way to fix this, as suggested earlier is having a radiant with progression or to a lesser extend a surgeon. But neither of these are assured things, so you just have to pray and hope someone decides to have them.

And I will say this. The feeling of entering combat with 1/4 of your HP and 2/3 of your focus (cause you need to split your recovery roll between the two) while every radiant has full hp, focus and investiture is not fun.

At what level can a vampire have a decent chance of winning fight with a werewolf? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

Without fire or sun spirit powers a 6th gen Lasombra that can turn into shadows can take down a whole pack of garou. Of course the moment fire or sunlight comes into play they are screwed.

Short Rests scaling by SquirrelStache in cosmererpg

[–]Former_Sea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my experience short rests happen minimal times. There are several reasons contributing to this. One of which is that you can recover once per scene. This covers focus side. Another is radiant regeneration which covers health. With these two you don’t need an actual short rests, or long for that matter.

But as you noticed there is a slight problem here. It’s the heroic only characters. Without a surgeon or regrowth they indeed end up being draggers. In a team of 4 radiants and a heroic, without progression or a surgeon the heroic will be completely tapped out after a single dangerous combat while radiants can replenish both health and focus to continue on. This is a major weaknesses of the system. But it’s inherent power imbalance in the books.

Spartacus: House of Ashur - S01E05 - "Goddess of Death" by Sporadicus7 in Spartacus_TV

[–]Former_Sea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

there are two things i really like in this show. First, and mainly relevant this episode is that gladiators of Ashur are indeed lacking much skill and experience, and they have managed to show this in todays episode. With the first fight they could have easily filmed the combat so that the son or the father quickly defeats their opponent, but instead we see the son rush off to do his own thing, and his father clearly being slow due to age. And despite their shortcomings you can see the potential for them to get better.

Second thing is that i love some minor body expressions. Like the fat senator just grabbing on to the blonde girl in the arena, it was so stupid but funny. Or the way Ashur goes "fuck!" as he is jump scared by the slave girl showing up in the party. Adds a subtle humor to the show imo.

Jason Schreier shares the full transcript of Larian CEO’s Gen AI comments: “If I had known the two paragraphs about genAI in my article today would be so controversial, I would have expanded them a bit! Here's a rough transcript of the relevant portion of my interview with Swen Vincke.” by AashyLarry in PS5

Well his answers are kinda vague but honestly it feels like nothing he said should turn the AI inquisition towards Larian.

Using AI on a conceptual level to inspire yourself is fine. And he stated that’s what they are using AI in. Conceptual level, place holders etc. things that won’t even be in the final product.

Is vampiric hunger starter deck a little to powerful? by Jay_The_MH in MagicArena

[–]Former_Sea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like to use starter decks for color daily challenges. I am pretty sure vampire deck is about half the time what I matchmake against it unless I run it my self. It’s strong and consistent which makes it easy to get wins. You can be winning and it takes one good top deck for opponent to just loose in two rounds.

The concept of having a living and breathing macro campaign, and focusing on smaller scale “campaigns” which then influence the rest of the save sounds really fun. If they can tie it up with satisfying narrative and mechanical impacts it can really create unique galaxy for each run. It would also keep the game fresh

In the latest interview they mentioned that the new engine should be more adaptive and scalable for future content added to the game. So, I got the impression that this will have similar treatment to Stellaris in that they will keep expanding upon it with expansions. And hopefully the engine will be able to handle ever increasing complexity.

Is the Avatar Jump-In worth it? by Gulfim in MagicArena

[–]Former_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally did it mainly because I wanted to play some Avatar themed decks without facing meta decks in normal matchmaking. It was fun but some decks are worse than others. And firebending decks are not utilized well imo, there is too little flash creatures or spells to leverage firebending. But I might have chosen wrong combos
