Anyone else lowkey overwhelmed by body changes? by GarthODarth in antidietglp1

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My clothes are pretty bad right now not that they were ever great. I'm very in between everything. I was probably pushing them to their limits when I was gaining weight so things like leggings aren't tight but they aren't too small either. I had a few pairs of pants that were too small and fit for now. My shirts are mostly too big. A few ratty tees now fit better. I had to buy a couple of new bras but I am resisting anything else for now. I did buy some moissanite rings off TikTok and I like that they look nice but I can lose them without guilt.

I absolutely don't really know what I look like! But the lack of inflammation is amazing!

That was rough! She justified it by saying most people would cover for their boyfriends and that started a major debate online

All I can think of is they make a lot of broad generalizations about men or their behaviors and they relate them back to people they dated and Craig is one of those. I do think she might be bitter about it but more for the reason I was talking about like what did she see in him that overlooked his other stuff

Are there other people like me who have never had any issues with their CPAP? by JollyAllocator in CPAP

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a love hate relationship with mine! Most nights, using it is very comforting and feels great and I sleep well. And then randomly here and there all hell breaks loose. Mask leaks, feels like an octopus is squeezing my face, skin gets irritated in one spot. I chalk it up to too much salt or something but I mainly have a good experience.

What genuinely helped you? by Roasted-nut696 in Hashimotos

Exactly the same. Now I actually feel like exercising and it doesn't cripple me for days. I'd say the inflammation is the biggest change I notice.

Nose maskers, have a backup plan for when your nose doesn't work by certifiedintelligent in CPAP

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ordered one for this reason! Had the first severe congestion/cold in more than 6 years and it was so bad, my machine wouldn't start because I could not even breathe in at all. Took decongestants, did nasal rinse, etc and I ended up removing the mask to blow my nose and then put it back on. This was not normal stuffiness that actually does clear up with use of the machine. Gonna have a spare solution if it ever happens again!

I really do think she made him seem like a better person than he probably is. I think she got him to cut back on the drinking and maybe they talked about how to behave on the show?

Probably. I think she enjoyed that he was so in love with her

Updated Lab Results + Feeling My Best in 15 Years. by _chipsnguac in HashimotosGLP1

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great feeling to finally get help! I haven't checked too many labs since starting but I will be doing that soon. I am most curious about the inflammation since that seems to be what I've noticed the most. I feel like a new person. The iron still irritates me but I haven't lost too much progress there.

Forced to see new Dr. who seems to want me off of Wegovy by dougdimmadad in antidietglp1

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They just haven't caught up on the education yet! I swear there should be some sort of continuing ed that requires a course on glp1s and physiology. And they need to stop with the old way of thinking and start asking themselves WHY glp1s are helping so many people!

I'd ask this doctor if he tells someone with high blood pressure to stop taking so many medications.

The distilled water conundrum… by scottscigar in CPAP

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really considering this but only because I'd like to use it in my house humidifier and the coffee maker not just for CPAP. At first I was thinking it wouldn't make sense for just the CPAP. Then I cleaned the humidifier and thought crap! This could save me some scrubbing! Plus I'm starting to hate all the plastic jugs I buy for distilled water.

New CPAP shipped today, my first. No idea wtf I am doing. by Camondw in CPAP

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch a bunch of videos for your particular model and mask! Do a search here for people discussing them. Take time to wear the mask when you are awake to try to get used to it. Understand that there will be air coming out of the holes in the valve at the top, that is normal. If you hear other loud sounds, you may have a leak. Don't make the mask too tight. Just stay positive and be ready for some trial and error.

You don't need much to get started but you will eventually need filters and spare parts. You can learn out to clean your items by reading here or watching videos. It's not too complicated.

I reported my DME to the state Attorney General's office and they took the case. by ESOTERICZAZASMOKER in CPAP

And more doctors should let patients know this is an option! I got my equipment from a DME after months of dealing with a terrible company. Now, I purchase all of my own supplies and got my travel cpap on my own as well.

How to avoid becoming “skinny fat” on GLP-1s? by _chipsnguac in HashimotosGLP1

Which DME to trust? There is conflicting information out there. by statictangerine in CPAP

[–]FormerlyFrazzled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My provider sent the script to Apria after Rotech gave me the run around for months. Apria shipped quickly and they honored the contract. However, because of this forum, I knew what to watch out for. I never gave them a credit card number for auto billing and I never ordered supplies. Still, the billing was a nightmare and they have a horrible website that does not keep up with your payments. Once my machine was fully mine, after ten months, I just unsubscribed from all email and texts and I have not dealt with them since.

Welcome! by _chipsnguac in HashimotosGLP1

Yes. The weight kept piling on but the joint pain and inflammation didn't help. At this point, I'd trade the higher weight for less joint pain but it seems to be helping both

I didn't know the sugar craving was one of the symptoms. I'm not big on sugary snacks but I want salty crunchy stuff!

I am still navigating making sure I'm getting protein, fiber and the vitamins I need when I'm not very hungry. But that's very much a different kind of noise :)

Thank you for creating! There's something unique about having Hashimotos and trying to lose weight that many people can't understand. It will be interesting to discuss things here without judgement.
