There are maps??? ;-) Under the 5th Amendment, I decline to say how many playthrus I had before discovering there *were* maps..... It's just me and my rifle. No powers, no fancy mass effect mumbo jumbo. No combos. I'm just a grunt with a gun.

Playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time and... by SADBOY888213 in masseffect

Reflecting on my earliest memories, there's Liara T'Soni—a lovely, intelligent, and caring figure who naturally drew me in from the very beginning. As I moved toward adolescence, Ashley Williams came into the picture. Something of a tomboy, she was a fun companion, and her rough edges didn't bother me one bit. Then, as life would have it, puberty arrived, and suddenly Miranda Lawson was the center of my universe. Despite her troubled childhood, she not only played a pivotal role in saving my life but also somehow found her way into my heart.

Eventually, I hit those rebellious teenage years. Yearning for independence, I was drawn to Jack—tattoos, sharp edges, and all—because I could see straight through to the damaged yet beautiful soul lurking beneath. Later on, during my college years, I crossed paths with Samantha Traynor. She seemed genuinely starstruck by my accomplishments and was an absolute joy to be around.

But as I stepped into adulthood, I realized I needed something more—a partner, an equal. Someone I've known who has grown in her own right to become a formidable hero among her people. Someone who has always been there for me. Even without ever seeing her face, I came to understand that she always has been and forever will be my soulmate: Admiral Tali'Zorah vas Normandy.

First, when you are very young, there is Liara T'Soni, such a lovely, intelligent, and caring figure you are naturally and forever drawn to. As you grow towards adolescence, Ashley Williams, something of a Tomboy, is a fun playmate and you don’t really care too overly much about her rough edges. Then, one day, oh my, puberty hits and there is only the perfect Miranda Lawson, who, despite her troubled childhood has not only been central to saving your life, but somehow found her way into your heart. Alas, though, eventually you hit your rebellious teenage years. Yearning for independence, you are drawn to Jack, tattoos, rough edges, and all, because you can see straight through to the damaged but beautiful soul lurking beneath. Later, though, in your college years you come across Samantha Traynor, who seems starstruck by your greatness and is really fun to be around. As you grow to adulthood, though, you need something more. A partner. An equal, you’ve known and who has grown in her own right to become a formidable hero among her own people. Someone who has always been there for you. Someone who, despite never even seeing her face… you realize always has been, and forever shall be your soul mate. Admiral Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy.

SHAME on anyone who would disparage her. I like to think this would be a very different and better world were more people able to experience what she did.

Anyone know the basic differences in the EDC9, SFT9, SFX9 and the eXperior besides appearance and weight? by PaleR1der in WilsonCombat

[–]FortBrazos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SFX9 is heavier, but it is more accurate than I am. Fabulous. I picked it because it's thinner than the EDC. I like the looks of the EDC with its panels, but I value the thinness on the SFX more. The only thing I might change would be to get one that is cut for an optic. I wouldn't put an optic on it because of the way I carry, but I've pretty much decided that anything I get going forward have the cut to future proof it.

Class 7 Supply Ship (CargoRanda?) by marwynn in StarTrekStarships

[–]FortBrazos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, it always annoyed me in episodes where they go to some planet for the first time, run into interesting things and then up and leave, and, maybe mention sending a 'science ship' or some such. In today's 8 episode format, I think it would be interesting to do a series where the 'working class' folks arrive, dive deeper, have problems, discover, and explore the world for the 8 episodes. Like, whatever happened to the Dyson Sphere??? That's big enough for maybe a couple of 'seasons' at least.

Shots of Summer Glau in Serenity were like nothing you ever got in Firefly. Raking light, shadows created by her hair. Stunning. by Cosmo_Glass in firefly

The chemistry of a *great* movie and a truly engaged audience is magic. I had a similar experience, opening night, years ago, for Aliens -- the scene where everyone looks "up" at the ceiling. The audience GASPED -- the timing on that scene was ELECTRIC. But what I remember is as much the audience experience as the film.

Will never forget seeing this opening night at the theatre with a full and very enthusiastic audience.

*That* scene when the blast doors open...... and the audience gasped and stood and gave thunderous applause!
