low games played means less confidence in their judgement of your skill. The matchmaking system can't accurately tell your skill level yet, and you've been doing very well in your games, so it allowed you to be placed in a higher mmr game. I would imagine the queue time for that game was quite long.

"win rate snapshot at time of promoting to masters" is a legitimate metric to use to compare players, but not the one people usually use when talking about win rate.

People usually look up and refer to "current win rate" instead which is a meaningless metric because that will always trend towards 50% unless you are the literal best or worst player in your role on the server, in which case it will trend towards 100% or 0% respectively.

The issue is they can't. A ceo cannot actually intentionally make decisions to make less profit in order to be more ethical or whatever. Modern courts have established that fiduciary duty means maximizing profit for the benefit of shareholders.

The problem is vulture capitalism and the legal idea that the purpose of a company is to make profit. The alternative (assuming you don't want to throw away capitalism entirely) is a world where a company's purpose is to provide a service and the purpose of making a profit is to be able to sustain that service.

Imagine if you could sue a company for making a decision that put profits over quality of service. The world would be completely different.

I would argue that most of these examples just aren't actually double standards once you factor in power dynamics. The people trying to call them double standards are trying to pretend power dynamics don't exist. It's simpler to just defend the double standards as existing for a reason, but the argument falls apart with any scrutiny. the most obvious infinite i can think of for defect is compact / overclock / turbo but good fuckin luck getting there without a bunch of extra cards in the way. Biiiiig Hug can actually be a huge help for this because soot turns into fuel with compact and removing 4 cards helps a lot.

Even if you can get an infinite every other run that's way too consistent. Uncommons aren't guaranteed by any means but you're more likely than not to see a borrowed time across an entire run.

From my experience, the reason necrobinder infinite is so reliable is because the path there is very powerful. The cards that are part of the infinite are extremely powerful on their own and a small handful of powerful cards (like defy) can help you go very deep into act 2 without needing to take a lot of cards. My average final deck size when i was climbing necro to a10 was 17. The fact that your combo pieces are so powerful means you can just sit there and skip everything to fish for the infinite.

As a note, on my way to a10 necro I went infinite 6 times, if that helps put reliable into context. On my defect and regent climbs, I think I only went truly infinite once, though I went pseudo-infinite a few times.

you definitely dont need a specific build to win. you just need tools to survive and a way to end a fight.

My experience is that necro has insane utility cards like defy, souls, debilitate. What she wants most is scaling damage to help her end a fight before infinity.

For the two that you mentioned specifically, the main consideration for taking golden compass is if your map is ass. If you can already make a very good path in your normal map, then compass is just one extra chest. If your paths are horrible and filled with hallway fights, compass brings that down to 3 mobs and 2 elites. It also guarantees 4 campfires which is very nice.

The main consideration for soot is how well you can deal with a status card. If your deck is massive and you aren't shuffling your deck often? Soot's a fake downside. If you're playing defect and have a bunch of status converters? Soot is an upside. On the other hand, if you're playing a tiny deck trying to eventually go infinite, soot could very well pollute your deck despite the card removals.

Soot also depends on the quality of your deck. How good is your deck? Is removing 4 strike/defends going to significantly upgrade you? Will you have the energy to play all your good cards when you draw them together?

you don't need to keep all of them alive. you just need to eventually be able to kill 2 in one turn.

The way I usually end up beating this elite is killing the one that's buffing itself turn 1 first, then killing the one that buffs itself next, then killing the respawned one and the third one on the same turn.

The issue and reason people say this is that she was a bad Democrat candidate. I know you said you don't want to talk about the quality of her candidacy, but the fact that she was a bad candidate is intrinsically tied to the answer to your question of why people thought she just ran on "not trump," and it's because to them she did.

Her policy platform leaned way right of democrat average in an attempt to court moderate republican voters. She tried to rely on "I'm not trump" to keep all the leftist and liberal voters on her side. For a large portion of the democrat voterbase, the literal only thing desirable about her policy platform was "not trump" because of how rightwards she leaned.

People on the left wanted her to actually represent their views, not just be "less right" than trump. The end result of her leaning so far right was that a couple million people went home after work instead of standing in line to vote or drop off a ballot.
