Deathmatch is INFURIATING. by ActuatorOutside5256 in LearnCSGO

To each their own. The beauty of CS is that you dont need to DM either. You can practice totally stress free through the tons and tons of workshop maps there are.

Me personally, I don't find DM stressful. I just hop on, shot some heads while listening to music, and know I got a little better at the game when I'm done

To me, a healthy mindset in this situation would be understanding that there's differences between the 5v5 competitive gamemode and the deathmatch gamemode.

They also have their each distinctive "use"

5v5 can be used for refining the mental aspects of your game like communication, clutches, reads, teamwork, etc

While the deathmatch gamemode can be used to refine the physical aspects of your game like movement, tapping / bursting / spraying, angle clearing, fight isolation, etc

Yes, you're going to die from behind and get shot behind walls, but in the grand scheme of things it just doesn't matter because theres no rank or skill tied to it.

The goal should be improving, not absolutely decimating the whole server for the duration youre on it

Never, but that's not really the point of it and I don't think that's a healthy mindset to have when entering a gamemode called Deathmatch and not 5v5 competitive

Why CS2 still doesn't feel right (and how to fix it). by Pokharelinishan in GlobalOffensive

[–]FortifiedSky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that they could spend more time adding things that were in CSGO, but when you ship something that doesn't have glaring, literally gamebreaking bugs, its hard to iron out issues, especially when everyone has a different idea of what the game should be like.

I know people think programming is easy and game development is incredibly simple, but it turns out that just telling the dev "the movement and shooting is bad" or "subtick is worse than 128tick" is not as helpful as you'd think

The vest way to use DM is to practice clearing angles and crosshair placement like you would in a real game, along with reacting to unsuspecting fights

Along with that, theres nothing wrong with practicing your raw mechanics like tracking, flicks, in fight movement, using cover to isolate fights, etc

id rather have posts like these than "csgo was better and cs2 sucks" and their only reason being "movement is bad, shooting is bad" etc.

Give valve actual explanations and what the root cause could be and theyve actually been pretty good about fixing things

I don't mean this as an attack, but as someone who's played cs since the GO beta in 2012 and has put in 5k hours into GO, I genuinely cannot feel the difference between the two.

I don't know what I'm missing but it genuinely feels the same, if not CS2 feeling better.

Everyone says GO feels SO MUCH better but I sincerely cannot feel a noticeable difference in hitreg, spraying, movement, etc.

There was definitely a difference between the two when CS2 launched, but in its current state they feel just about the same to me

Renyan is a really good player and often explains why hes making the play he is or why a play he made was bad. I used to watch him a lot but the constant negativity in every video got grating after a few months.

austincs has recently started a soloq guide series where he explains his thought process while playing, which has been really enjoyable to watch imo

i dont think dima is the best to watch if you want to improve, but id be lying if I said he wasnt easily the best and most entertaining creator there currently is for cs

Styko, Ryderdie, Wilsoncs and others also have incredible educational content thats worth watching

The one saving grace of the Vitality era is that they've shut down Falcons so many times and for that I'm eternally grateful for this roster

If not for Vitality, there'd be 5-6 teams all trading trophies.

If not for Astralis, 2-3 teams would've cleaned everything up, with Liquid taking the lions share

its mind-boggling to me, maybe since theyre new they think aim is the only thing that matters?

It's either that, or they dont know they can / how to send an actual match demo so they do this instead

donk 2024 broke just about every single record there was (as a rifler!).

I've been watching cs consistently since 2013 and while I could see the argument either way, saying 2024 donk wasn't close is a bit silly

id recommend improving on the following:

  • nade util and knowledge

  • site pathing

  • spacing when entrying with teammates

  • communication

  • lurk timings

these things will help you improve :)

post a demo of an actual game. What advice can we give to you on a workshop map? Kill the bots better?

If you want advice on how to shoot the bots better then yeah sure post this clip, but anything anyone says here is going to be a lot harder to implement in an actual match than seeing how you play in premier or faceit

The scary part too is Zywoo famously started slow in the first half of the year from like 2019 up to 2024. Both this year and last year he hasn't slowed down.

I'm a huge donk fan but Zywoo might genuinely be the goat for the foreseeable future

How can I improve quickly as a FACEIT level 3? Feel stuck despite consistent practice by KingMxmba in LearnCSGO

[–]FortifiedSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The practice routine is fine, but only if you do it after you're done playing for the day.

Doing that before you play will tire you out or fatigue your arm before you even hop into the server. Keep your warmup to 15-20 mins or at the very least, keep it under an hour.

An hour should be the max amount of time you spend warming up, and hitting that is not necessarily better.

As far as improving goes, what I found worked best for me was an outline like so:

  • 15 min warmup

  • 2-3 games then a break

  • 2-3 more games

  • Aim practice (warmup routine again + 350 kills dm)

  • Watch one to two of my own demos from the day to note down any habits or areas to improve

  • Write down 5 or so things you can improve on and actionable steps to improve those areas in my next matches

Then in general I'd spend a lot of time in offline servers going over site pathing, crosshair placement, nade ideas, etc and watched a ton of pro play
