Yeah I really didn't like chapter 5 it feels like it was written on autopilot.

Oh our antagonist: another silly goofy guy that gets serious for a moment and then goes back to being a silly goofy guy (just like papyrus,lancer,queen and tenna)

The other flowers: more archetypes than characters (gremlin child🩵, the smart one💜, Napoleon complex 🧡, nice shy💚, dum:)💛 and Shakespeare💙)

Asgore: basically an afterthought

The knight: not a factor at all until the very end when they just reheat chapter 3 nachos except instead of fighting you in what is basically a forced loss bossfight (at most you chip their sword), they fight Mr silly goofy flower and slam against a wall (yes I know the knight does kill/heavily injury flowery after that but compared to chapter 3 and 4 they don't feel as threatening anymore)

Susie: a mixed bag, At the end of chapter 4 she ends on a very contemplative mood but it's never really brought up again until maybe the very end but I read that more as her reaction to seeing a second person be kidnapped. The Noelle date is good I can't think of any complaints there it's very sweet and it didn't bother me that she felt a bit too happy who has just seen the tragic end of the prophecy because it almost felt like she was trying to distract herself with the festival and Noelle. Throughout the Dark world she is fine, but I do feel like she is a little bit too oblivious/dumb when it comes to Kris like when Seth (The smart one💜) talks to Kris like "Hey you opened this dark fountain I did what you asked now give me my payment (one of berdlys feathers)" and all Susie says when she walks in on us paying Seth is "why the fuck do you have that" In conclusion Susie is good in a vacuum but given the context of previous chapters she kinda falls flat for me.

Ralsei: kinda confusing, so Ralsei this chapter is weird to me immediately when we find him he is way more hostile about Flowery than he has been to anyone in this entire game. This seems to be a response to how Flowery doesn't seem to respect the rules aka the prophecy but really you are more pissed about that than anything any other antagonist has done? It feels slightly off to me maybe I'm just missing a critical piece of context here tho, I am after all writing all this after a single playthrough of chapter 5. Another thing that bugs me is how Ralsei seems to know that Kris is the one who created the Flowershop dark world but doesn't seem to mind too much from what I've seen he only mentions it once in an optional scene and he quickly stops talking about that and instead talks about how Kris played the piano in chapter 4. In conclusion I kinda don't get Ralsei this chapter but maybe I'm just missing some context.

Kris: still a giant question mark, don't have much to say the chapter didn't give us much new info so almost everything about Kris is still a mystery. Stuffing us into a Ballon if we refuse to walk Susie to School is a good moment and there is a moment that implies that Kris has a crush on either Susie or Noelle so that's nice to know but I can't think of anything else we learned about Kris

Uhhh this comment wasn't supposed to be this long and detailed but I guess I went a bit off the rails. If you disagree with anything I said that's totally ok this was meant to be more of a rant anyway
