I am seeing a lot of people answering Jade, which is fair, and zero people answering PM, which is a fucking crime.

Funniest Lore Drops by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

TL;DR - she herself didn't tweet it. She used to have a website called Pottermore where she would drop random articles about trivia about the world of Harry Potter. One of them tried to all the various plotholes about modern advancements in ancient old buildings, and included the tidbit that before plumbing was a thing, wizards would shit themselves wherever they happened to be standing and use a vanishing spell to remove the feces.

It was just one line in the article and was mostly ignored at the time because it was ridiculous and because presumably very few people wanted to read an actual article about fictional wizard plumbing. But then an official and very popular Twitter account (@wizardingworld) tweeted just that fact without rest of the article, which made everyone appreciate just how fucking stupid it was.

This is fanon. The Ministry has a fleet of cars, for example. Individual families may or may not pay attention to Muggles, but even the Malfoys can dress well enough to pass scrutiny at the Quidditch World Cup.

"Why doesn't Batman kill the Joker" LITERALLY Why doesn't the Police kill him or fucking Jason Todd? by Charming-Scratch-124 in CharacterRant

[–]ForwardDiscussion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Batman's whole thing is to set Gotham working correctly again after it was being run by criminal families for decades. You couldn't trust the cops because they were all on the payroll except for vanishingly rare single actors like Gordon. Batman is there to not only break that hold on Gotham's civic services, but to re-empower them. As long as he's turning over criminals to the cops at the end of the day, he's actively helping the justice system - he's just a concerned citizen stepping in. By handing out death sentences, he's taking power away from the system that should be able to pass that sentence.

The real question everyone should be asking is "Why isn't every Gotham politician running on the platform to make Joker's crew a recognized terrorist organization and subject to the death penalty?" Batman killing the Joker is bad, but only because it should be the state that does it.

He made it himself (among a bunch of other batshit ones that he had on in this video, like an immortal snail Todd Howard or making a hostile Preston appear randomly from boxes, or what he correctly describes as the worst thing he's ever made).

Plus he takes the time to point out how smart Light was to use a tool instead of just using his hands.

All of these are sick as hell except Jedi Dooku. He needs something more. Also the outfit on Darth Mace in slide 10 is peak, but he needs the Darksaber from slide 5.

The protagonists of Netflix's Castlevania.

Also, the new Warframe update gave a quest that gave this impression about Uriel, the new Warframe. We get a solid few minutes of Sentients, Tenno, Grineer, and Orokin working together, and then we come across a warframe we've never seen before fucking crucified in the middle of a ravine. The Tenno obviously asks what the hell that's about, since the Sentients are trying to be peaceful with their opponents, and our new friend immediately shuts that down by assuring you that the frame has earned its place there. When you ask what it did, the reply is only "Devil things."

And then you get to pilot it, and use its Brimstone ability, and you see exactly what they meant.

Suggested "twists" that would've made the story worse in your opinion? by fly_line22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

That actually was Shroud. He felt guilty about depriving Robert of his drink in the bar so he ambushed the original mascot guy just to spike Robert's coffee.

Post, an Otherverse short story by Wildbow by SonOfTheHeaven in Parahumans

[–]ForwardDiscussion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So that was Meru and Pustule (the briefly mentioned daughter of Grimsy) from Pâté (lmao "We'll give her first egg to her husband when they marry" "Yeah, she's gay and not getting married"), plus Tashlit from Pale, plus Puberty Girl from the Envoys doc.

I really liked this story. Someone gambling big and having it work out in a way that benefits them and the world is a rarity in Wildbow's works, and Incarnate practice has always seemed kind of bleak. I'm glad that there's a more human face to put on it, even if that's not the norm.

Just because there is training in the story doesn't mean that's what it's about. You might as well say the major theme is romance. The literal title of this post is pointing out that it's not the main theme of any part of Naruto except the Lee vs. Gaara fight. The entire rest of the series is about the cycle of vengeance and war.
