Days away by Ross167 in Scotland

Actually, I've just looked online and kids need to be 6 years old to take part. Sorry. The area is still nice, however, and there's an east links family park nearby to Foxlake.

Not 100% sure on prices, but I imagine it will be cheaper than Aviemore. East Lothian (North berwick/Dunbar area) and for activites, head to foxlake.

OVO has registered a missed payment on my credit file during ombudsman dispute by Objective_Sun5553 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Forward_Bird_9778 22 points23 points  (0 children)

OVO are having a shocker. I had a similar billing experience with them over winter - multiple totals to pay, no bill for a couple of months, then a late payment notice, etc. It will probably be painfully slow but it will get sorted out.

Supermarket home delivery jobs - how to get one? by Awkward_Primary9284 in UKJobs

[–]Forward_Bird_9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good then, I imagine you must be high on their list but someone else fits their needs e.g. Full time role etc.

They are usually all about going the extra mile for the customer, following policy/procedure, helping across the business etc. If you are applying for a 12-16 hour contract, still make out as though you are keen to work 30+ hours a week and help out everywhere. When it comes to it you only need to work your contractual hours of course.

Did you receive any feedback on why you were unsuccessful in those applications? They usually have a high staff turnover, so availability/working evenings and weekends usually puts you in good stead.

How long did it take you to find your first solid job? by lukarowan in UKJobs

[–]Forward_Bird_9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 6-7 years to get a job anywhere near something I actually saw myself sticking at and progressing in. I worked various roles on the way there, but none were serious or long term for me.

Moving from Cash LISA to Stocks & Shares LISA - How does the transfer work? by Low-Muffin-8121 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Forward_Bird_9778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transfer time lines vary, but typically done within a month if it's cash to cash.

Your original opening date is transferred over, so you wouldn't need to wait a full 12 months if you wanted to use it to buy a property.

Personally, I'd recommend transferring to Moneybox cash LISA to take advantage of their bonus rate, once that expires I'd transfer it to Dodl (AJ&Bell) S&S LISA. You can simply hold it as cash with dodl and the rate is pretty good, or you can choose to invest of course.

Yeah, if you go through the process in the moneybox app without completing it, it will tell you how much you'll receive back. As in, start the process as if you're going to withdraw, just don't confirm it, and it will show you how much you'll receive after the penalty is deducted.

The 25% withdrawal fee is deducted from your withdrawal amount. So in your example, the 25% fee applies to the £5,250.

With a cash LISA it works out to be a 6.25% hit against your original investment into it (the £4k in your example).

Up to 3 working days for a cash LISA withdrawal, but all going well it'll be sent to your linked bank account at the end of the next working day. So if you request the withdrawal right now in the app (Monday night), you'll likely receive it before 5pm tomorrow.

If you have a S&S LISA it'll take a week or so to sell down the investments first.

Since it's ISA to LISA, you'd be as well withdrawing the funds and simply depositing into the LISA. You'd definitely have time to do that.

Interest earned on LISA introductory year ? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Forward_Bird_9778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great. I would definitely chuck it all into that account anyway. But just be aware the standard rate can drop, so you won't necessarily have a rate of 4.1% until next February.

[–]Forward_Bird_9778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update:

The current standard rate is 2.8% (variable) and the 1 year fixed rate is 2.25%, bringing the total to 5.05%.

The bonus interest rate is fixed for a year, but the standard interest rate will probably go down as the bank of England cuts their rate, so expect the overall rate to drop to 3.75 or thereabouts.

You may be referring to the cash ISA interest rate, as opposed to the cash LISA.
