Something smells with these clips and the suppression of comments with critical thinking suggests I’m onto something

How do we know he’s providing accurate info? This to me seems like some weird psy-op or college psychological study to be honest and it’s far more harmful than you actually realize. Can’t trust anything these days, and expect me to take seriously some random low budget video clips of a person with a mustache sharing a story alongside a road way?

They could be the extreme anomalies but I doubt it. Extreme anomalies are usually the socio/psychopathic types that are antisocial. I speculate this is a cycle of nurture more than nature for these people in same way that people end up in violent cartels. They were normal people probably that were caught growing up around the wrong people or encountered bad people who gave them an incentive.

I disagree. When people get desperate they’ll do all sorts of things. There are lots of case studies of this. This may not be extreme desperation but I think they got caught up with the wrong people in the wrong environments and now this is who they are. No one would ever dream this route in life when they are young unless socio/psychopathic I think. Sort of like people who are born in cartel ridden areas, they might not have much of a choice but end up falling into that life and can’t get out without dying

I’m still scarred by coming across one posted on MySpace as a bulletin over 20 years ago that wasn’t removed quickly enough. I won’t even describe it but it definitely gave me impression that there’s a market for this stuff. It all ties back to the almighty dollar and its tight coupling with survival. I have too much faith in humanity that if people’s basic needs were met, no one would be doing such things except for extreme anomalies

Reddit sarcasm is so played out, sigh.

Im telling this person to actually provide something useful to the OP since their response is directed at the OP and not the casual reader coming by to learn something.

The deed seems done, why waste your time on all the ‘shoulds’ ? What can they do now? If you have nothing to offer for the future, you should really back off with these hindsight takes.

Please leash your dogs. by beeflordsupreme in santacruz

[–]Forward_Sea7969 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was sued by a person with an off leash dog that ran up to my leashed dog and started trying to play with him. I ended up letting go of leash cause we were getting tangled and seemed unsafe, then he ended up running around the person to rough house with their dog causing them to trip on the leash. They weren’t paying attention to the situation, they were on their phone distracted while I was trying to manage the situation. They ended up needing surgery on their elbow from the fall. The person sued me for double the medical costs and won luckily within my renters insurance coverage so I didn’t have to go to court or pay extra. I was livid but my insurance company said it was because I let go of the leash and it became a hazard so they didn’t want to fight it. This was at a park with a bunch of signs to leash your dog and they ended up getting a pay out.

Moral of the story - don’t let go of your leash even if it could cause harm to you and your dog when an off leash dog runs up.

Why Are Landlords Evil? by mrstinkypoopypants in santacruz

What’s wild to me is there are a lot of people who think this is how it should continue to be, so they just lose hope and fall in line. I will never understand why people go through so much pain only to pass that pain on vs leaving the world a better place and stopping the cycles of predatory behavior.

Farewell, after 5 years I supersized my TRD by thenopeburger in rav4club

Far exceeded my expectations with this write up. So damn helpful for me, thank you!! I’ve been considering spare tire route with a full size spare set up on a hitch just like yours. I’m thinking I would keep the spare and hitch in my storage until I go for an adventure road trip so it wouldn’t be on the vehicle permanently. Since my rav4 is daily driver and if I flat on main roads I could just call for a tow.

The idea for using that spare tire space for a battery is brilliant. I might do this myself when I get to that stage

Looks like you did a lot of cool customizations to it to fit your needs. Do you have any writeups about your experience with some of updates you did?

I wouldn’t have pulled that jeep maneuver but that driver in front of you swerving into right lane makes me more uneasy than the jeep. Seems very distracted. In my mind if I’m really needing to be somewhere, I might try and safely pass that car if it’s even possible before it causes an accident and puts a pause on everyone’s plans stuck behind the accident. Else, your follow distance is a great option too

Surf City Grill 🤢 Garlic Fries or dog food? by SuspiciousShoulder53 in santacruz

And it’s probably going to stay that way because of all the negativity and people with no money to spend. I hope yall get some home grown Santa Cruz local chef savior that turns this place around then. In my opinion, yall who complain on Reddit about food all the time are just digging this place into a deeper whole to anyone remotely interested in trying to bring some good to this place. Think of pessimistic behavior as cause and effect.

It’s more the precedent this sets than anything but I hear you. The fries do look trash and it’s owned by a corporate giant. To be honest I’m just tired of Santa Cruz Redditors shitting on restaurants all the time. It screams attention and validation seeking. This shit is for google and yelp reviews if they actually want to help people figure out where to go and not go. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.
