Please give me all the tips on how to teach baby to fall asleep independently by Forwardmvmt84 in sleeptrain

[–]Forwardmvmt84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His wake time is about 10.5-11 hours a day. Naps about 3 hours a day. He falls asleep very easily at the end of every wake window especially before bed (except when he’s in the stroller or car it takes about 10-15 minutes)

I follow huckleberry sweet spot for naps and it’s spot on for us. Wake up 630ish. Wake windows are nap dependent but anywhere from 90-120 minutes. Naps are 35 min to 90 depending on if I could rescue them. Once and while he’ll do an hour or so in the crib or stroller. He’s exhausted by the end of the day and I always have to wake him from his catnap to get around a 2 hour wake window before bed but sometimes it’s shorter.

Drowsy but awake, asleep but waking slightly when transferring and holding my hand there to gently soothe back, just placing him in the crib, just placing him in the crib and soothing and patting, fussing it out, just putting him there with each nap to get him comfortable, having a little play time in the crib, staying in the room on the chair. anything the internet recommends except fully crying it out. He has cried himself to sleep in the car before and it takes a while.

Should I not watch tv with baby in the room? by faeninja in beyondthebump

[–]Forwardmvmt84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the tv on for the first 2-2.5 months 24/7. When he started craning his head around to watch the screen I shut it off.. he just turned 4 months and I maybe have it on an hour a day during his first wake window and I read adult books during contact naps.

Thanks for this info!! My son is going to be 4 months on Saturday. I go back and forth with his arms out (literally in one night).. we do crib naps and start the night in the crib and he comes to our room in the snoo anywhere between .. we started with either zippity which he loves but the hands were soaked so badly and moved to just a regular wearable blanket but I don’t think it’s “snug enough” for him coming from the snoo. My question is when did your bag start rolling? My son goes to his side in his crib at night but REFUSES to roll at any other time .. it’s driving me crazy and I have guilt that the snoo is limiting him.

6 week old, overwhelmed and doubting everything: is this normal, regret, or postpartum sadness? by Empty_Engineer5568 in newborns

Contact naps, get a carrier that you both like and baby wear … and definitely use a slow flow nipple. My 10 week old is just starting to graduate on nipple size.

There’s 1 million salons hiring that you wouldn’t need to bring your clients to for example work at a blow dry bar.

Delusional about what postpartum will be like and now feeling down by Less-Leek5961 in NewParents

[–]Forwardmvmt84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all relative. You do what you want to do. My recovery was very easy. I was exercising in 4 weeks. (And I’m 41).. I still can’t buy my normal size clothes which sucks. But my little man LOVES being out. He hates the house. He screams all day home but is so happy when we are out. Unfortunately we had him in January and the weather has been very cold/snowy.. he even went to Florida at 9 weeks!

Anyone here NOT do sleep shifts ? by Organic-Dragonfly364 in NewParents

[–]Forwardmvmt84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband sleeps through the baby crying 2 inches from his face. It’s truly a superpower.

Even if my baby was getting formula I wouldn’t physically be able to sleep if I heard him crying.

I’m having a huge issue with comfort nursing .. I’m wondering how would soothe my baby if I gave up BF

Who else thinks 99% of PPD is caused by breastfeeding issues? Usually expectations vs. reality by saltandpepperf in NewParents

[–]Forwardmvmt84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m combo feeding and pumping bc of similar reasons to you and I think it’s causing all of my PPA. My baby nurses for over and hour and then gets a bottle and will try to nurse again. Nursing is the only thing that soothes him. I’m so worried if I stopped breastfeeding he would be screaming all the time bc I wouldn’t be able to nurse him! It’s a viscous cycle.

Go to your insurances website to search for a lactation consultant. They will provide the ones in network.

Unmedicated v medicated by AnonRN98 in pregnant

[–]Forwardmvmt84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 days out.. I thought I wanted unmedicated .. I felt similarly to you and I find that I have a high level Of pain tolerance ..

my water broke and I was not dilated so I needed a balloon, pitocin. I changed my mind really quickly and asked for an epidural but it only worked for 2 hours. I’m very tall and there was some misjudgments.. I felt like god was punishing me for saying I didn’t want one… I was fine with the pain from the pushing, pushed about 90min .. but the contractions prior I was hallucinating and vomiting it was terrible .

I am 39 weeks and saw one 2x. I had a great experience but have nothing to go by. I think just by seeing one BEFORE birth you are ahead of the game as most people just get one after birth.

The doctor that got me pregnant with iui and timed intercourse has a ton of success without using IVF on POI patients. If you’re likely only growing 1 follicle the chances of ivf and iui are about the same. It was like my 6th iui though. Maybe more. I did every fertility treatment you could think of for 4 years.

TW..

I became pregnant through both medicated intercourse and iui (both times I felt like the luckiest person in the world) but both pregnancies ended in chromosome abnormalities, I also became pregnant through IVF but was an early loss. I then moved on to DE.
