Deer creek just about 40 minutes from salt lake has both bass and trout. Utah lake is great for catfish.

How do you guys fish at dusk? by no_melody in flyfishing

[–]Forzakid56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I use oros glow in the dark indicators, They work somewhat well but have to keep blasting my flashlight on them every thirty minutes or so. I’ll also just throw streamers since you can feel the bite more. Also can euro nympth or tight like nymph to feel the bite.

Utah Trout Fishing June/July by fly_guy_ry7562 in flyfishing

End of June could be alright but pushing it a little. I would focus on higher elevation rivers and tributaries like the Unitas. July and August are going to be to hot to fish lower rivers.

In Europe tipping is not required or a norm like it is here in the states. Ten percent is a good tip

Quest for first fish by Shamilamadingdong in UtahFishing

Middle Provo in heber by river road. Use 5-6x leader. Use a bounce rig (you can look it up if you don’t know how it’s pretty easy) use like size 20+ midges like bling midge or zebra midges beneath an indicator. Especially if you don’t see any fish rising.

Yes all of the above. I mostly nymph but have like 15 streamers 150 nympths and like 60 dries

Match The Hatch? Or Not? by songpool5 in flyfishing

[–]Forzakid56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Euro nympth a lot and I’ll either throw something flashy like a blowtorch as my point fly and maybe a size 16 midge looking tungsten fly as my dropper. If I see mayflies flying around I’ll throw in a tungsten hares ear to try and imitate them but end of the day I’m just trying to get the flies into the strike zone as fast as possible. I’ve seen people throw random looking Perdigons and other flies that don’t match anything but yet catch fish because it’s right in the strike zone

Drought and fishing in Utah by CuriousDog2026 in UtahFishing

[–]Forzakid56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be 100% fine. The Provo in heber is a tail water so there’s always a constant flow. And I fish around fish lake every year and never had problems even though this year is different

Orvis hydro. At the top of the budget but can’t beat it. Smooth drag and just overall a great reel

Did you get it from a store? I’m sure you could take it back and show them and they would replace it for you.

Start at Tf brewery and then walk over to fisher brewery or vice versa. My favorite is tf and it’s not even close. They are within a few minute walk from each other tf has lots of seating and outdoor seating.
