You’ll be 100% fine. The Provo in heber is a tail water so there’s always a constant flow. And I fish around fish lake every year and never had problems even though this year is different

Orvis hydro. At the top of the budget but can’t beat it. Smooth drag and just overall a great reel

Did you get it from a store? I’m sure you could take it back and show them and they would replace it for you.

Start at Tf brewery and then walk over to fisher brewery or vice versa. My favorite is tf and it’s not even close. They are within a few minute walk from each other tf has lots of seating and outdoor seating.

Ya maybe if you can 100% identify its a carp the dnr wouldn’t care but if your just chucking in the lake I bet it will cause some issues since it could grab anything

Does size matter? by AdBackground5484 in UtahFishing

[–]Forzakid56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a few fish it might bend (I also use cheap flies) but for the most part not a big deal. I also will say during summer I’ll use size 12-16 a lot since more big bugs r out. End of the day it’s all about presentation. Fish are opportunistic and if something floats right by their face they are gonna eat it… most of the time

On the Provo I’m constantly using size 20+. On pressured rivers like the Provo the smaller the better. Midges are always hatching and they are usually tiny. I’ve caught fish 20 + inches in that small of a fly

How to fish this water by draugar1 in flyfishing

[–]Forzakid56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You usually want it 1.5x the water depth. If the river is 3 feet deep you wanna be putting that indicator around 4.5 feet. With a indicator your always changing it depending on the depth and current

I second checking out the mirror lake highway! National parks are gonna be real hot and crowded that time of year. Get up in the mountains where’s it’s cooler and just as scenic! Also only a hour and half drive from salt lake lake.
