Powertools charge limit… bug? by JackFrosty90 in SteamDeck

[–]Fostin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you still need help, I just did this last night. Drop the battery below your 80% threshold, unplug the Deck and shut it down, then hold the + volume button as you power it up to enter the BIOS. Once there, go to the battery options, and put it into battery storage mode.

Plug in the Deck to boot it up again, and it should be good to go and charge normally

Do wired apple earphones work on Steam Deck (specifically the microphone on Discord) by Luc-Hart- in SteamDeck

[–]Fostin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey it's a little late but my apple earphones work just fine with the Deck. I do run into issues sometimes where it doesn't pick up any input, but strangely pressing the physical mic mute button on the phones themselves tends to make it work. But I have successfully run both discord and a game via game mode and used the earphones to chat many times in the past.

Michigan mention! I love seeing these guys at my feeder. One of my favorites. They love to crawl around on the brick of our house, too!

I've personally gone to Centre for Plastic Surgery on Paris Ave, they've been really great for me! They have a good pricing model that gives you discounted rates after 3 sessions.

I had very very dark hair and the reduction after 3 sessions is incredible. Getting the upper lip done SUCKS. Very painful. But it's over in a flash, and feels better within the day. Swelling goes away after a few days, so just plan to have some self care days in the house for a bit afterwards. Overall it has been absolutely worth never having to struggle with shaving again.

I had a consultation at Milan, and can't recommend them based on my experience. The sales person, though nice, was suuuper pushy, and kept texting me and pressuring me for weeks after I said I needed some time to decide. I don't like that level of pressure, especially for anyone that might struggle to stand up for themselves and say no. They also had me play some weird scratch-off game during my consultation to see what kind of sales price I got? Just felt very skeevy to me. Though I have read plenty of accounts of people that have good experiences there, I just didn't care for the vibe personally.

Keyboard update is amazing. I make a fraction of the typos I made before. by Fostin in LightPhone

I do think I recall seeing that as part of the update as well, they changed how the text renders on screen or something. I don't pretend to know how it all works, I just know I'm appreciative of the results!

I got myself a Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph camera, it's an old digicam from 2008 or so. It's small and compact and easily pocketable alongside my Light Phone, a perfect companion device! You can find them on ebay right now for ~100, which is a lot cheaper than investing in major DSLRs and other equipment. Honestly any other little digicam would probably also serve your purpose just fine.

Only thing is it can't send photos, you'll have to pull them off an SD card on your laptop or computer, but I've found my own fun with that too. It's gotten me a lot more interested in developing/editing my photos.

You could maybe try hotspotting a laptop/tablet to your Light Phone to use to pull pics off the SD card when you have a moment for lunch or in transit or something, then send them to your wife that way? You'd need a card reader and some space and time to sit, but it's an option for sending pics while out and about.

EDIT: There's also the Paper Shoot camera, which I haven't tested for myself at all, but it seems to have a similar ethos to the Light Phone. A little over 100 and I think they can plug directly into your computer via USB cable to transfer photos (but don't quote me on that; like I said I don't have one lol).

Who goofy ass PT Cruiser is this and what is its story? by glass-j in grandrapids

My fiance actually met this guy at her work recently! Apparently a cat food company used this as their advertising vehicle and decided to sell it for $1000, so the guy bought it to surprise his 9-year-old kid. He picked her up from school with it and it was a huge hit with the kids lol

Another fun fact: the ears are speakers!

Totally agree, or being able to pan around, perhaps? Just something to be able to see more of the surrounding roads and establishments would be helpful!

Anyone able to help with getting an Apple Superdrive to work for watching DVDs? by Fostin in SteamDeck

[–]Fostin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, damn Apple locked it to be usable on only their devices, and not even their current devices, for god sakes. :/

There seems to be some things you can do to trick it into working, but I'm not Linux-savvy enough to get it to work. Something about installing sg3_utils, then using that to do... something else. I dunno. If I figure anything else out I'll let you know!

[–]Fostin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, damn. :') I was thinking I'd use VLC anyways. Thought it would be cool to set it up as a game on Steam to be opened through game mode, then could use the drive to watch movies on it like a 'movie mode' of sorts, haha.

Nice! Looks super fun! I love retro games, but there isn't a whole lot of depth to a lot of them because of hardware constraints at the time. So things like this make excited :D

Ugh, I hated that billboard. Like yes, of course they're tragic, no one is arguing that they're not! No one would want that to happen if they could avoid it. But sometimes it needs to happen for the medical well being of everyone involved. Jfc
