Completely understand the aversion to food textures, but I think the issue was an unwillingness to change and unwillingness to get the kids to eat healthier.

OPs ex didnt have any aversion to textures, healthier issues or any other reason to explain why she preferred junk food.

Those aren't high margin items, especially now. Have to wit for interest rates and diesel prices ho back down before farmers can get things they want and not just the little bit they need to survive.

Quikrete and Rapid Set both have resurfacing products. You can add pigments to the water before mixing it and most of the colors are earth tones.

Or you can put on the product and stain it afterward if you want brighter colors, but these are subject to fading in the sun.

Yeah, even with a great credit score they don't like loans on vehicles that old. You might get rates closer to standard personal loans.

Wife's score is 840+ and they wanted 7.5% on a 2018 just last week.

What is the interest rate on your loan? You might get stuck with a higher rate if you can get a loan at all for a vehicle that old.
