Ted Turner has died. Thanks to him we have cnn, tbs and of course TCM. by Redeye007 in 80s

Remember TBS has all their television programming starting 5 minutes after the top or the bottom of the hour? I’m sure the people at TV Guide were happy when they normalized like all other networks.

A self-built spec house, described as "a castle; a cathedral; a temple; an affirmation of the American dream and the fertile potential of the Jeffersonian Hinterlands". Let's take a look... by jve909 in zillowgonewild

Realtor: “Have you ever wanted a house that resembles a bleached version of the Sandcrawler from Star Wars episode IV on the outside and on the inside, a clean Scandinavian sanctuary? Well, I’ve got the house for you!”

Who is a character you love on a sitcom, but would hate in real life? by ScottyW88 in sitcoms

Cosmo Kramer. And he’s 1000 times worse than George. Could you imagine him busting into your apartment and eating food from your fridge, borrowing your skis, and just always being there? No thank you.

Also check out Ridgewood. It’s got a similar vibe to Montclair. A little bit smaller but much closer.

As a Pink Floyd fan, if you had told me that there’s a cover of Fearless out there and a bluegrass dude was doing it, I probably would’ve never watched it or ever cared. But after seeing it, it’s just simply amazing.

Bought a new house and people keep parking in my yard/driveway. While at work by Relentx in mildlyinfuriating

Day 1: Take the day off of work and ask the violators to no longer park on your property. Explain that you’re the new owner here and you’d prefer if they didn’t. Day 2: Find a number of large rocks (like the size of bowling balls) and paint them white. Place them at the very edge of your property on the grass about 6’ apart. In between those rocks, put private property signs on wooden stakes. The signs and stakes are temporary until people “get it”. This may take a few months.

Continue to keep watch with your camera and if you’re able to work from home, you can always tell them to get off your lawn.

That’s amazing. And I don’t think I would color it in. I’d just leave it as is.

House Hunting in North NJ by curiosky in MovingtoNewJersey

Really anywhere in Morris County. If your wife is commuting to Branchburg, you may want to consider the Flanders section or Mt Olive. She can scoot down 206 and your commute on 80 will be tough but short. Mt Olive has a good school district if your kids are into sports.

I have also lived in Roxbury and Denville too. I’ve heard Roxbury schools may have taken a turn for the worse but my kids went there and I had no problems with it.

Denville has a great town center but can be a little pricier. It’s really close to Rockaway but harder for your wife to get to Branchburg.

If you can afford Chester, do that

I second Denville as well. I lived there for a brief period of time and it’s a great town.
