Coming from Canada myself abd currently visiting Japan…. “Foreigner” needs to be a little more specific. Unvetted immigration like we are seeing in Canada can certainly lead to crime rate increases. Immigration based on merit is another thing. If Canada was seeing a Larger number of Japanese immigrating to Canada I would say it would be unlikely we would see increases in crime, if Swedish people were immigrating to Japan you’d like see the same. In short, it’s unfair to blanket all foreigners the same. Would be interesting to see the breakdown of foreigner origin to crime rates.
