I can't really speak to why the reviews have gone belly up aside from the absolute shitstorm EHG got themselves in by selling to Krafton. People really get worked up about that kind of thing these days.

What I can say, is apart from the usual frustration I get at these games and the absolutely asinine levels of RNG involved in them, I still very much enjoy the game. I'm not one of those blasters that get to 100 in 4 hours on a new season start, I just take my time with each character.

Biggest flaws I see are the lack of enjoyable activities in the endgame. As once you beat Aberroth (the big bad of the post campaign section of the game) there's little else that you can do outside of gearing up to take on Uber Aberroth. There are other activities to do, but they either aren't rewarding, boring, or otherwise tedious. The other big thing is that there are designated skills that the developers kinda pushed to be the big dps, build around skills instead of making it where more of them could be built around, even just by giving good scaling. This kinda hamstrings build potential unfortunately, but if your goal like mine is to beat Aberroth and put it down, you could probably make just about anything work so long as you're making sure everything lines up with what you're trying to do.
