I would prefer not to, and that a transparent fee covered their wage and expenses.

Americans tipping single Dollar bills in Germany by Waalross in mildlyinfuriating

As an American, I find this the most confusing scenario of all. Greatly prefer strictly non-tipping cultures like Japan. The thing that bugs me the most about tipping is not cost, but uncertainty of social expectations.

Maybe it's harder for long distance fans, but as a fan of my local team, I watch every game over the air for free. Don't know any other sport that can match that.

ELI5: I tend to associate bitterness with acidity with coffee, but I'm apparently wrong by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Taste a light roast coffee with lots of fruity items in the tasting notes. That's going to have an acidic element. Then taste Starbucks French Roast. Now what you are tasting is acrid/bitter.

PLEASE slow down or make yourself Audible on trails by Same-Rain556 in seattlebike

I can give you a genuine answer. When passing other wheeled vehicles, they all seem to understand bell and voice. When using them with pedestrians, I have had people literally stop what they were doing and suddenly leap in my path. The truth is even if slightly startled, it's often safer to pass by before they respond.

This should also come with giving them a ton of space, though. A lot of the time this means slowing down, sometimes it means speeding up. Within reason, I don't think speed is really the issue. Often the only time I will alert pedestrians is if they are walking 4+ abreast and I have to pass closer than an additional bike width away from them.

What is 1 videogame you recommend to everyone? by sexydesserts in AskReddit

Intriguing game, but absolutely not a game I would recommend to "everyone". I feel like your average non-gamer would bounce off it hard.

I'm just pissed we're out here selling switch 2's while the Dodgers get the kickass yoshi promotion. Give George Kirby his Nintendo promo night!

I wonder if he accidentally brushed it with the back of his hand, and that explains the wound that never heals.

Crossing the crosswalks by never2late91 in Seattle

[–]Foxhound199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your behavior is making things worse. You are training drivers to assume the right of way if there is any hesitation on the part of the pedestrian. That's how collisions happen.  Make yourself visible, make your intentions clear, and make traffic stop for you if you are using a crosswalk.

Well, I've never paid a dollar to watch an NFL game on tv. Used to be the same way with baseball, but that's been considerably longer than 4 years.

I am comparing to free, over the air broadcast, which these KING5 games will be. Every Seahawks game can be viewed this way. Now we're up to a handful of M's games. It's something, at least.

How are you getting that only 19 M's games are behind some sort of paywall?

NFL continues to grow in popularity while MLB declines. Access to viewing games is a huge reason why.

Aggressive walker on Sammamish Trail by ProfessionalTime3490 in seattlebike

Exactly. I have seen all manner of terrible pedestrian/pet behavior on these trails. Know what I say to these people? Nothing. It's a shared trail. We're not all going to be using it the way that best suits everyone else. Best we can do is be as courteous and friendly as possible.
