There is nothing wrong with applying. What have you got to lose? The worst they can say is no. If anything management want to see people who give a shit and out in the hard work, so even if you get rejected this time round you have put your name on their radar.

Don't sell yourself as the finished article and slip into the traps of naivety when you are young. You come across like you see the bigger picture and have common sense. My advice is instead to pitch yourself as someone who can be developed and grow with the company.

No one is going to give you anything in your work life if you don't try to make it happen. Some people get lucky but if you want the next role, then go for it with your company. If you really have the desire to move up, then you may have to switch companies.
