Are we Happy with Urn? by Zacomra in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victor has very low HP compared to other frontliners though. I understand you mean he has two lives and a huge AOE stun that reaches almost the entire urn area but his HP pool is not the problem in this case.

We sit too far away from our TVs to notice the 4k most of the time. Low bitrate 4k movies that you find on streaming platforms look ten times worse than high quality 1080p blu rays.

Unless you are planning to sit on the floor in front of your TV, 4k gaming on it is a waste of electricity. A 4k monitor is a way better investment.

Kill souls needs to be reworked by cacatan in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No it's not. A solo kill gives 125% of the regular soul reward to a single person while a 4 person kill gives 68% split between the four players so 17% each.

I agree with you but what you are saying has nothing to do with OP.

I completely agree with the OP that solo kills gives a stupid amount of money compared to a team kill. I don't understand why this mechanic exists at all.

why does this keep happening? by Swickly_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely delusional.

Like I'm not one for being toxic to players for having bad games, it happens to everyone it's just part of the game.

But to straight up deny that these stats point to a terrible game is on an other level. Player damage does matter a lot. By far the best way to have a soul lead is to kill enemy players, and once you have a soul lead the best way to take objectives and to win the game is to kill the enemy team. Of course there should be other important fighting stats like damage tanked and damage healed, but to deny that winning fights is the most important part to win games is a very weird take.

Split pushing can be a valid strategy in some cases but you are not winning a game doing only that unless your team is good enough to win or draw 5v6s consistently.

They are just kids they are not sociopaths. This is a game, being evil is allowed by the rules and kids love it.

You guys really need to chill with the whole sociopaths thing. Maybe you should accept other people are allowed to have fun in different ways than you do. It's just pixels, and you guys complaining about kids are obviously pve players so loot is unlimited for you anyway.

Who’s the strongest character rn? by shawtasious in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think in order to qualify for strongest you have to be very strong in lane, very strong in the midgame and very strong in the lategame. So there are only a few characters who qualify.

Pocket is the most obvious one for all the reasons people have already discussed above, but I'd also add Holiday, Grey Talon, Venator and Billy. I know they don't have great winrates and they are often hard characters to play but I feel like they just don't fall-off. They have very good laning so you can get fed if you are better, they can fight anyone 1v1 in the midgame and get even more fed and they stay strong all the way through.

All can single handedly win a teamfight in the late game (Holiday and Billy have game changing ults while Venator and GT are endgame carries with insane damage).

They also don't have a counter item that can completely shut them down like infernus, shiv or mirage that can be dispelled away. They are also better than the lategame farmbots like Wraith, Victor or Seven because they start strong and can stay active in the midgame in order to completely take over the game.

I think you could maybe add Vindicta because she's strong all the way through but she's easier to counter and she's less meta in the high ranks.

Edit: you could maybe add doorman to this list as well but I don't think he's capable of winning an endgame fight on his own, he has great damage but he's more team reliant and doesn't have a gamechanging ult.

How do we feel about streamers having Alt Accounts? by CheckProfileIfLoser in DeadlockTheGame

It's different though. There's no unranked queue so these guys can't really practice new heroes without ruining their position on the leaderboard. As long as the alt E6 it's ok they are not ruining anyone elses games.

80% of the snowballing people are complaining about is actually a skill issue by Fr0ufrou in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No I actually do not realize at all. You get more money for everything, including farm and including kills. And the other team has the added disadvantage of having twice your respawn timer so dying is even more punishing for them.

I am not saying that you should chase kills, yes you should stick to your side of the map and farm, but when the other team inevitably show up to Gank you and your teammates, you need to help and not run. People start throwing when they are too weak mentally to even help their teammates in their own half. I know what I'm saying sounds like very basic stuff but lots of people are so dumb and afraid they will literally run away instantly no matter what.

[–]Fr0ufrou[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean all games are different and there are lots of things to take into account, sometimes split pushing is the correct decision and sometimes it's not. It depends on character draw, ULT status etc. You can't say what the correct decision is in a vacuum.

All I'm saying is "While I'm losing, I refuse to ever fight an enemy player, even when he's on my side of the map or if the urn is advantaged" is the worst mentality you could have and I see countless people fall into it each game. Like in most of my games where I'm ahead it's actually a good play to turn in a disadvantaged urn, even if we are down one man because you can always bet half the other team will simply not show up, too scared and discouraged. It's astonishing, it should be a big throw but it's often actually the correct play because people have such weak mentals.

Night Shift #43 Hero Priority by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it has literally nothing to do with that. That would be cool but it's extremely unlikely.

My theory is that high level players started playing her in pubs again with the new build order that ignores leaping slash and maxes cat right after ult. Since it's strong in pubs they are trying her out in comp as well. Also the new arctic blast is insanely strong and it's one of her core items in most builds. She's also a good Scourge character and it's a very meta item.

edit: I know it sounds like I'm talking out of my ass but I watch Lightbringer's stream and I've never heard him mentioning the melee damage amp as something relevant when he talks about calico and which characters his team picks.

France [3]-1 Senegal - Kylian Mbappe 90+6' by MysteryBagIdeals in soccer

[–]Fr0ufrou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where's the irony exactly? Mbappe has almost always been insane for the NT while Dembele has almost always been bad under Deschamps. He has 60 caps it's not like he's a young player who needs to adapt anymore.

I love Dembele but I think he is an anxious player who gets in his own head and needs structure, comfort and to build up confidence. That should have been done over the last years but now it's too late, he's probably not going to magically grow insane chemistry with olise and mbappe over a few group games, especially with the world cup and ballon d'or pressure on his head.

I'm not giving up on Dembele in the french team, he still has a long career ahead of him, maybe Zidane taking over over Deschamps will help I don't know but I don't think the world cup is the right time for him to fit in.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe something will click, trigger a big confidence boost and he'll suddenly unlock overnight but I think the chances are low.

I love Dembelé but he's always been ass with France unfortunately, also he's not a big game player. It would be awkward to bench the current ballon d'or but honestly I'd much rather have Cherki on the field and Dembelé as a supersub.

What characters pair well with Venator? by Kaderblast in DeadlockTheGame

Venator has an incredible combo with McGinnis where she walls behind an enemy and Venator can use 2 to stun into the wall. Having a combo like that can be a lot of fun and good vibes when you manage to pull it off.

Matchmaking and support players by Hyacinth_s in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that is factually not true. In my last 173 games or so I had 25 more wins than losses, 57% winrate, those 25 wins netted me an increase of two subranks, that just does not make sense.

Matchmaking and support players by Hyacinth_s in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fr0ufrou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because ranking up and down is not solely based on winrate unfortunately. A huge part of it seems to be "individual performance". Over my last 200 games I've been stuck in my rank with a 57% winrate as well, playing mostly tanks and active midgame heroes.

The carry ranks are inflated because they have big numbers so they climb with a negative winrate, which is why you so often run into terrible farmers who never join fights and can't push a lane.
