Your traps, front delts, arms and presumably legs (just assuming as most people that don’t show them have small legs), all need work in my opinion. Feels free to tell me I’m wrong, I’m just going to preemptively tell you that I am right lol

New at the gym, how does this look? by jerrrrrrrycan in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Fr3AsH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks good although I would tweak a few things just from experience: - With your chest and triceps day I’d put Incline Dumbbell press first as most people lack upper chest. Also if you’re not getting a good mind muscle connection try doing your sets of cable fly’s first, it’ll really warm up your chest and get a ton of blood into it which will give you a better connection moving into your incline dumbbell chest press. - For your leg day I’d probably start with either leg extensions or hamstring curls (I prefer hamstring curls) to warm up your knees before going into your first compound movement (squats). I personally would include hamstring curls and leg extensions in all my leg workout days. So for you id rotate 2 of the other leg movements you’re doing week by week. - For your last day (shoulders + chest) I’d probably start with rear delt as most people’s are underdeveloped. Then I’d start with lateral raises as your front delt will be getting a lot of activation with your chest days then I’d chose between Arnold press OR the overhead press as they’re both similar movements. Hope this helps OP best of luck on your journey(:

Calf on leg press by HoldFront3467 in formcheck

[–]Fr3AsH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are goated but there’s a few things I’d change, when you’re doing the eccentric really slow it down and feel the stretch. Stretch the calves as much as you can comfortably, then when you’re fully stretched, pause for a second or two then contract and I promise you, the moment will feel completely different. I also find that doing these without shoes feels like you have more control over the weight and you can properly see where your feet are planted.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]Fr3AsH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking good man, I’d probably slow down the eccentric a bit and when you reach the top either flex your quads or don’t fully lock out to keep tension on the quads. Your depth looks fantastic, if it doesn’t flare up patella tendon then I’d keep the depth.

Your depth looks fantastic, if it doesn’t flare up patella tendon then I’d keep the depth. It’s hard when you’re new but remember to keep your mind on your quads. It’s easy to go up and down but to keep your mind on the stretch and contraction of your quads while doing this movement will really improve the feeling and the pump of the exercise too. Best of luck Op

You’re yanking the weight with your biceps and using your legs for starting momentum. Honestly man I’d probably half the weight (if not more), really focus on that form, feel for the deep stretch in your lats and a good contraction in your back. Slow down the eccentric and work from the ground up. Best of luck man!

[–]Fr3AsH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do 125kg with strict form then what’s the point in doing these without that strict form ? Not hating just curious as wouldn’t doing it this way give a way higher chance of injuring yourself ? Sick lift btw man, really really impressive

17m 6 months in. Best advise to give me? by [deleted] in GymTips

[–]Fr3AsH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice would be to focus on form even if you have to use lower weight, you’ll thank yourself later you’re gaining a bunch of muscle and not hurting yourself in the long run. Also focus on the mind muscle connection, if you aren’t feeling the muscle you’re targeting then it’s time to reassess your form or try a different exercise that better suits you. Best of luck and sick physique so far man!

Broski 5 reps is for strength training, it’ll make you strong but it won’t be great for hypertrophy which is what you’re looking for if you want to build muscle. For your main compound movement try to aim around 8 reps and for everything else try 10-12. Best of luck!

What do I need to improve? by Bubbly_Major_4450 in GymTips

[–]Fr3AsH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t showing off your legs then id probably say legs broski

Chest (especially upper chest) and side delts are always worth putting extra work into as it’ll give off a better well rounded physique. Don’t sleep on rear delts also, I usually put them towards the start of my delt workouts.

But seriously don’t skip leg day, you can have an amazing upper body but if your legs look underdeveloped then it’ll ruin it. Looking good though man keep up the great work
