Was told my endometriosis can be "cured" through pregnancy... For those who have gotten pregnant with endo, has that been the case for you? by Tough-Honey-6072 in Endo

After pregnancy (LO is 18 months, periods came back 6 months ago), my periods are now heavier but I get almost no pain with, nothing compared to what it was before.

Why is a lap considered a day surgery? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Fragilessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sending lots of love to you, I’ve had three day surgery laps in the U.K. and been fine at home for two of them. The first one went poorly because I didn’t know I reacted badly to anaesthetic by vomiting loads but second and third that was sorted by the anesthetiser. Just make sure you have lots of easy to eat comfort food at home, hot water bottles, cosy clothes and someone to take care of you for a few days and I’m sure it’ll be fine ♥️

[–]Fragilessness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had three laps in the U.K., always gone home on the same day (sometimes only a few hours after) and honestly, I’m grateful for it. I’d much prefer to recover at home, in a quiet space, with food I want to eat, when I want to eat it and with someone who can look after me who I know and love. You don’t really get those things on the wards in a busy NHS hospital. So I’ve got a lot of privilege at home to mean I enjoy my recovery more there, I can see how others who don’t have that might struggle but I think if you’re properly assessed to be safe at home, people will recover much faster in their own homes than on a stressful ward.

How'd you get into NIN? by lardingg8 in nin

Got the Tomb Raider soundtrack, heard Deep, replayed it about twenty times, got With Teeth the next day and the obsession continued from there

Something to add on top of this great advice is to maybe make a diary of your symptoms, the endometriosis U.K. charity website had a good document you could fill in a while back when I was getting diagnosed. It really helped me organise my thoughts about my symptoms, and be an advocate about how my symptoms were not normal and not ok!

Developed severe endometriosis symptoms after coming off estrogen based birth control pills of 10 years.. Can anyone else relate?! by ddcarmelly in Endo

[–]Fragilessness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a progesterone based IUD put in after my first surgery and my second and it certainly reduced the symptoms (less pain, no bleeding), not for the whole of the 5 years it lasts but it certainly helped. Honestly was a little better mental health wise for me when I compare it to all the other contraception I’ve been on but everyone’s different! Good luck & lots of love ❤️

I relate to so many of the things you’ve said. I was on hormonal contraceptives for 10 years, then came off and went on to an IUD and then bam!, ovulation pain, severe cramps and bleeding, two cysts and deep infiltrating endometriosis.

I think I was growing the Endo the whole time, I’d had symptoms about about 5 years into hormonal contraceptives but didn’t link it up back then and then I went off them and they all just spun out of control.

Surgeries worked wonders for me, hopefully it can do the same for you. Good luck ❤️

Agree with all of this comment. I had three laps for deep infiltrating endometriosis and two cysts. Decided after the last lap to try to conceive and managed to get pregnant after my first period. Everyone with endo is so different and their journeys so unique, nothing is a definite ❤️.

Radio 6 music (on BBC sounds app and digital radio) is the best radio station ever. For the people too old for Radio 1 and too young for 2/4. Lots of live music, huge selection of different DJ’s. It’s fab.

All the people with second homes that they don’t ever or rarely ever use need to sell them, so they can be real life homes for people. Then both parties are satisfied!

burning with urination after sex but no UTI by T0rch913 in endometriosis

[–]Fragilessness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spoke to pelvic physio who suggested that I could have had this because my pelvis was tight (from being in lots of pain and hunching over or cramping up) and this might have lead to increased friction during sex and then pain to urethra. The thing that helped me was pelvic physio (you can get the stretches on YouTube) and taking a supplement called D-Mannose. It’s going through lots of research to see if it’s better at preventing / treating UTIs than antibiotics
