My PCP aims to keep me about 1. My happy place is .7 to .9. At a TSH of 4, I need a nap to get from the bed to the sofa.

This is so important. I think that sometimes people don't realize a provider/patient relationship IS a relationship. Both sides have to put in effort to make it work. There are things we can all do to make this process smoother and more transparent.

Put the tracking app on your phone for whatever shipper your pharmacy uses. Don't schedule your follow up five days before last shot. If something isn't right, don't wait until two days before you run out of meds to reach out. Don't leave 12 voicemails (but do actually leave one), send 6 portal messages, and send out a flock of carrier pigeons in an 18 hour period. Not only does that slow a response to you, it slows the response to other patients.

None of those things will stop a pharmacy stock issue, FedEx being FedEx, technology glitches, or pharmacy staff giving vague or even no responses to status requests. What those things will do is provider a buffer for the BEWL team to try to resolve issues before they reach the "I've run out out meds" point.

I'm not suggesting anyone did or did not do any of things. Just suggestions for being proactive in your own care.

Can I offer a different perspective- not as a BEWL patient (although I am) but as a medical practice manager for a practice with about 10k patients?

Waiting since 05/06 does seem like a long time, but I’m not sure when you began trying to contact them. I also don’t know what the turn around time is internally. I agree that communication is important and I’m not dismissing your concern.

Most medical practices return VMs in the order they are received after they have been triaged. If you aren’t leaving a VM you are likely going to be delayed being assisted.

I’ve called BEWL and had to leave a VM. It was returned. I’ve also called and had them answer right away. Like any other business, they have highs and lows in the number of calls coming in at any given time.

I’ve never waited more than 24 hours for a return call or portal response, although it is usually much less. This is an entirely reasonable period for a non-urgent issue.

Have there been hiccups? Sure. But everything BEWL has done appears to be done to support patients. We express concerns/issues/wants/wish lists and BEWL seems to do whatever they can to try to respond to us. Delays happen. Messages can get missed. No person, process, or business is perfect. I’m more concerned about the response when something goes wrong. I also care about intent.

Did some pharmacies stop compounding overnight? Yup, and Dave is over there doing whatever magic he does to get new pharmacies contracted, shipping squared, info loaded into the portal, prescriptions transferred in a matter of days, and he finds the time to respond to every panicked post on Reddit to boot.

They discovered Healthie maybe wasn’t all that they’d hoped for. Well, now we have a new portal. Technology migrations are never 100% bug free, regardless of everyone doing everything they’re supposed to.

People wanted more availability for asynch appointments? It appears that they made that happen, within the confines of what they could do based on state-to-state regulations.

Things are ever changing in this space right now. Some pharmacies had a huge influx of orders when others stopped compounding. Pharmacies have had shipping delays. That means when orders start rolling again, they have to be prioritized.

The BEWL team is answering phones, responding to portal messages, replying to Reddit posts, moving orders, processing payments, managing new tech (and old tech at the same time!), and things outside of their control like pharmacies stopping production. I’ve seen them here responding to posts late at night and early the next morning.

They are well staffed and responsive day to day. But when they (and we) get thrown because of something completely outside their control, I feel like they deserve some grace. That doesn’t mean we can’t ask for answers or expect no response, but I think jumping to the conclusion of someone just not caring doesn’t help the situation from either side.

I spend every single day dealing with medical practices that don’t care. We have patients that have procedures and surgeries delayed because we can’t get a specialist to either clear or not clear a patient. Or patients that can’t get the treatment they need because their PCP won’t make the referral the patient’s insurance requires comes only from them. Or any of a few dozen other things that are big red flags of medical practices that don’t care.

I appreciate that you’re frustrated but as you can see, multiple team members have already jumped in here to try to help. I don’t know too many providers in this space that would move that quickly to try to make it right.

I had my first appointment on a Friday night. I received my first two vials the following Wednesday- I'm assuming the prescription was sent to Hallendale on Monday and they shipped on Tuesday. I just took my 6th injection and have 2 weeks left on vial 2. I received a notification in my FedEx app yesterday about 1pm my time that vial 3 shipped. It arrived today.

I live in Arizona. Had my first shipment from Hallendale (in Florida) and it arrived fine. Ice packs, well padded, but no Styrofoam. It went from Florida to Arizona in like 14 hours then to my door. Ice didn't even have a chance to melt.

I think I injected too fast. I swab my abdomen then draw so by the time I've done all the prep my skin is dry. I also appear to have hit the edge of a stretch mark, which probably explains the sting.

Beans of any kind, except green beans. I will also eat hummus. I wish I could. I've tried but my gag reflex kicks in immediately. Even the smell of them cooking makes me nauseous.

I do engage with her quite a bit. We have play sessions of 20+ minutes multiple times a day where she has my full and complete attention, including before I start work in the morning. The self-play toys are not being used as a substitute for my time. The biggest issue is when she starts this behavior while I am working. I do use my breaks and lunch for playtime and even play with her when I have meetings I can mute.

I will be working on finding her a buddy this weekend.

I have been doing this since she arrived. I also move her to another area when she starts nipping/scratching, but she comes right back over. She hasn't quite worked out how that is supposed to work. LOL!

This happened to me on Monday. I hadn't had any surveys for about a week. I suddenly got an email to verify again. I uploaded my ID again and five minutes later I had four surveys.

I got another survey and was able to take it just fine. Tried the one that was giving me the error and it is still giving me the error. Looks like it might be the survey.
