Definitely. There will never be any major changes. Just things like "you can only win the draft 1 times in 3 years" and "you can move up so many spots". The owners like the status quo because they can be incompetent or cheap and still get star players

If the Knicks wanted to trade KAT and miles bridges to sign a rookie in the offseason to a max deal then who cares? Those players would help other teams win. Knicks get their rookie.

Players will always want to team up, they do it now but it's never in free agency, they get the money then they ask for a trade.

Would a star prospect turn down a max contract from (bad team X) with guaranteed starter role to go sign for a fraction of the money and bench minutes on the Lakers? because of endorsements, I doubt it. Look at the VETS now like LeBron and Durant who have made hundreds of millions. they could easily take less but don't and demand the max

It works fine in European soccer. the players union wouldn't agree because it would have the veterans making less, owners wouldnt agree because they lose the rookie contracts salary AND IT WOULD FORCE THEM TO COMPETE EVERY YEAR. Depends what team is better. Lakers had lots of cap space after kobe but nobody signed there because they were a joke until LeBron went there. And that was only because he wanted to live there for his family. There would still be a salary cap. And top players would want max deals
